Wearing a face mask at a Notts registration office

Face coverings required at weddings and civil ceremonies

You are now required to wear a face covering when visiting Notts registration offices and approved venues.

The new guidance applies to anyone who is attending a ceremony, a birth registration appointment or notice of marriage/civil partnership appointment.

Brides, grooms and civil partners will be exempt from having to wear a face covering during their ceremony, but are reminded that social distancing and safety measures are in place.

Please remember that other exemptions apply when it comes to wearing face coverings, and should you see someone in one of our registration offices without one, please #BeKind as not all disabilities and impairments are visible.

Statement from Director of Public Health

Our Director of Public Health, Jonathan Gribbin, has released a statement following an increase of COVID-19 cases in and around the Newark area.

We would urge everyone in those communities to pay the closest attention to every part of the Government guidance in order to stay safe. Both the Newark International Antiques and Collectors Fair and the Normous Newark Autojumble events scheduled to take place this week have been cancelled for public safety.

Help us to stop the spread of Covid-19

Stay alert

As well as frequent hand washing, social distancing, self-isolating and getting a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms, you must also follow the guidance when getting together with other people – only two households can meet indoors. This is to ensure that we all are doing our bit to reduce the spread of the virus.

If you car share you should take extra care, stick with the same group of people each time, wear a face covering, open the windows and clean the surfaces after each journey.
