We love Nottinghamshire

Thank you volunteers ⭐

In recognition of National Volunteers Week, we’re acknowledging all the valuable work done by the county’s volunteers in coming to the aid of residents at risk and in need of support during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Since putting out a plea at the end of March for community groups, organisations, businesses and individuals to come forward to support the work of the County Council and partners in Notts, over 980 have signed up to pledge their help.

That response has enabled the county and partners to successfully assist in over 990 requests for support from vulnerable residents.

We’re sharing some of the great volunteer stories via our social media channels or you can visit our website for an overview.

The Big Lunch goes virtual! 🥗🥪☕

The Big Lunch

We’re supporting The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual thanksgiving for neighbours and communities, which takes place this weekend (6 -7 June) and which this year has gone virtual!

The Big Lunch is about celebrating community connections and getting to know each other better. Now more than ever we need to make time for each other but we also need to stay safe, so this year we’d like to encourage the people of Notts to get talking over a cuppa and a bite to eat with The Big Virtual Lunch 2020.

There are plenty of ways to join in the fun – online, on the phone or on your doorstep – and say “Thank you” to neighbours, communities and volunteers.

Re-opening bus stations

We are working to safely reopen bus stations across the county and have put a number of new measures in place to limit the spread of coronavirus.

These measures include social distancing markings throughout stations, an enhanced cleaning regime and limited passenger numbers.

🔹 Worksop Bus Station building will re-open today (Thursday 4 June) and will be open from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday. Outside of these times, passengers can continue to use the side gate for access.
