You can foster if you’re unemployed
You don’t have to be in work to be able to foster – every situation is different and many children need a full time foster carer to look after them.
We have foster carers from lots of different backgrounds, including some foster carers who work and some who treat fostering as their full-time role.
What’s important is that you have the time and skills to look after a child or young person in your own home. We need foster carers who can show young people lots of kindness and understanding, work together with their birth families and always have their best interests at heart.
We offer fantastic support, training and payments for our foster carers, and are able to offer specific benefits to help provide the best care possible for the children they foster.
