Do you deliver training to other providers or host training sessions that other providers could attend? If so, you can list them on the provider training and events calendar which will enable other providers to book directly onto your courses.

Breaking down barriers to work, education and training

The Towards Work programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund and is aimed at those with a barrier to working, education or training.

The service has job brokers who can help to link people to local employment opportunities and offer in-work support.

Paying for your care

We want to encourage everyone who funds their own care gets the financial information and advice they need. By receiving appropriate independent financial advice people will be able to maximise their assets to ensure they can continue with the care they have chosen in the longer term. Please help us to spread the word by passing on the information in our leaflet.

Nottinghamshire Local Offer

The Nottinghamshire Local Offer, which publishes provider services and information relevant for children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities, has published their annual report for 2017-18, which you can access through the following link The Local Offer Four Years In

If you are a provider who provides services for children and young people with SEND or have recently opened a service for this cohort, make sure you add this service information through your Notts Help Yourself registration.


Provider scam

We have been advised of an incident in December where a care home was contacted by someone purporting to be Bailiffs collecting an outstanding debt on behalf of the Council. The home owner and his family were threatened by the person on the telephone and the Police were called and are dealing with the matter.

Please be advised that should the Council be in contact with any service provider, the caller will always give their name and a contact telephone number so that you can verify their call. If you have any similar instances please do not hesitate to contact us on 0300 500 80 80.


Ethnicity pay gap

Companies may be forced to reveal their ethnicity pay gap under plans unveiled by the prime minister to help minorities at work. Theresa May has launched a consultation on whether mandatory reporting will help address disparities between the pay and career prospects of minorities.

The Disability Confident scheme supports employers to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the workplace. Find out more information about the scheme including how to join.

Nottinghamshire Healthy Families Programme

This service brings together care provided by Specialist Public Health Practitioners - Health Visitors and School Nurses and their teams to support all children, young people and families in Nottinghamshire. This service is available to any family living in Nottinghamshire with a child between 0-19 years old, expectant mums, and young people up to the age of 19 years attending Nottinghamshire schools. Save on childcare fees

90% of parents are missing out on tax-free childcare. If your service users are eligible for the Government scheme, they can set up an online account which they can use to pay childcare providers directly. People can apply at https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare

Working parents of 3 and 4 year old's may be entitled to 30 hours funded childcare.

Early years training

Find out about a range of courses for early years (age 0 – 5) practitioners including paediatric first aid, working with babies, training for special educational needs coordinators, supporting children’s speech, language and communication development and the Early Years Foundation Stage. The training is delivered by our experienced team of specialist teachers, early years advisors, early years project officers and external providers.

FREE child development training for frontline practitioners

Grow-wise offers people working with children and families an opportunity to enhance their understanding of child development – from conception through to 19 years of age. The new e-learning programme is free to all frontline practitioners within the county. It is suitable for anyone working in a frontline role, including health, education, police, charities, or faith groups.
