Nappies should only be placed in your waste bin. They are not recyclable so should never go into your recycling bin as they can contaminate all of the recyclable items in yours and your neighbours bins when they are loaded in to the recycling collection truck.

With Spring around the corner and the weather getting warmer we would like to give you the chance to win a picnic rug made from recycled wool. All you need to do is follow the link & submit your entry.
Please remember when you picnic to take home any empty plastic bottles or metal cans so that they can be recycled. Recycling just one can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours.

 Craft Sessions
In March we offered local people the chance to join us for some free craft sessions using recycled materials.
The sessions were very popular and visitors of all ages made some beautiful items to take home and enjoy. Visitors also had the chance to look around the facility and to learn more about recycling. Future events will be

 Free Recycling Information
Sessions
If you know any community groups who may be interested in finding out more about waste & recycling, then a free visit from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Waste Recycling Officer can be arranged.
This informative session will provide attendees with an overview of why we need to recycle and will offer practical advice to help group members do this effectively.
Sessions are designed to be run at local meeting venues and last for approximately an hour. Following the session, all participants will receive a ‘Bin Smart’ guide to help reinforce the concepts and continue good practice at home.

During the week of the 13 -17 March, just under 200 pupils visited the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Mansfield, in a quest to increase their knowledge about recycling!
Staff and pupils wanted to become more eco-friendly in their schools and a visit to the MRF greatly helped to reinforce the positive action they can take.
All visits are free and are open to Nottinghamshire schools and colleges. The facility can accommodate up to 30 pupils per visit from KS2 onwards. Find out more.

Why not upcycle your Easter packaging? People in Britain love chocolate. In world league tables of per capita consumption, the UK comes 4th behind Switzerland, Germany and Russia.
On average, each person in Britain eats approximately 11.2KG of chocolate per year. Paper and cardboard from your Easter Eggs can go in your recycling bin.
