The newly-dualled A453, 'Remembrance Way', was officially opened on Monday after cones were lifted from the rural section linking Nottingham and the M1 over the weekend.
The road's widening has been on our wish-list since the 1970s and both the Council and the local business
community campaigned long and hard for its improvement.

Nottinghamshire's services for children in need of help and protection, looked-after children and care leavers have been rated 'good' by Ofsted inspectors following their recent inspection.
The county has one of the largest child populations in the country and the grading puts Notts in the top quarter of local authorities in England.

Books of condolence have been set up at our offices across
Nottinghamshire for residents to pay their respects to the victims and their
families of the recent Tunisian terrorist attack.
Thirty British
tourists were among the 38 victims who lost their lives in the Sousse incident
last month, including 58-year-old John Stollery, who was one of our social workers.

Boy and a Bear in a Boat sails into Notts
This weekend the curtains open for Nottinghamshire's Children's Pop-Up Theatre in county libraries with the national debut performance of A Boy and a Bear in a Boat by Stewart Melton, based on a book by Dave Shelton.
After the debut performances at Mansfield Central Library this Saturday (25th), the play will tour 15 other libraries during the summer holidays.
