North Kesteven District Council has been shortlisted for the Economic Development category at this year’s Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards.
The nomination recognises the impact of Sleaford's regeneration, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, including the £1 million transformation of Sleaford Market Place and wider programmes that boosted business growth, footfall, and community activity.
The shortlisting highlights the success of the council’s efforts to unlock Sleaford’s economic potential.

North Hykeham Relief Road receives government backing
Tens of thousands of people across Lincoln and Lincolnshire are set to benefit from faster journeys, after the government confirmed funding for the North Hykeham Relief Road.
The £110m investment will mean faster journeys and less congestion for people across Lincoln and Lincolnshire.

Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2026
Lincolnshire County Council, North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and the Lincolnshire Public Service Compact are working together to host the Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2026.
The awards celebrate excellence in skills development and support for professional and personal growth through apprenticeships and skills programmes. Applications close on Thursday, April 2.

NKDC received the silver award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in November 2025. With strong links to RAF Cranwell, Digby and Waddington, and more than 10% of local residents being military service leavers, many businesses in the District employ veterans or armed forces families.
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, businesses and charities can show their support and commit to fair treatment for those who serve and their families. It is also the first step towards earning a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme award.
