It's a quick update for you this month as the team is busy preparing for our biggest engagement event of the year, at Heckington Show.
If you’re heading to England’s biggest village show this weekend, we’d be delighted to see you.
The Heckington Show runs on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, and we’ll be back in our familiar ringside location where you can buzz about biodiversity alongside a giant bee, discover how to be even friendlier to bees, bugs and nature and help us to supercharge shared objectives to Act on Climate together in North Kesteven.
There’ll be a chance to uncover the secrets of Sleaford’s hidden castle, work out how to get the best from digital devices through our free Digital Hubs, enquire about energy efficiency and cost-cutting measures for your home and find out how to keep yourself, your home and your community better protected from flooding.
Through a programme of talks, hands-on craft and creativity, engagement, activities and some watery fun, we hope to help residents discover more about the Council, its services and partnerships and some of the myriad ways it makes a difference in, and improvements to, people’s lives.
Through sponsoring the men’s and women’s cycle races we’re also seeking to inspire more active lifestyles and participation.
Seek us out on the corner of Avenue A; come and make a bee bomb, drop by for a chat and help set our shared path to a greener future.
For the first time ever, we're offering a series of mini-talks at Heckington Show, all taking place in our marquee. The short talks will each last approximately 10 minutes, plus time for questions.
Many of the talks are focused on climate action or biodiversity and things you can do for nature. If you're at the show, do come along and hear one of the talks!
