Are you a small or micro business based in North Kesteven? Do you have an idea to grow your business, or that will make your business greener, sustainable or more resilient? Does that project require capital investment to make it happen? If so, the Rural Business Grant could help to take your idea off the ground.
The Rural Business Grant is funded through the UK Government’s Rural England Prosperity Fund and aims to support new and existing rural businesses to develop new products, services and facilities that will benefit the local economy and rural communities.
The minimum grant available is £5,000. Some match funding contribution is generally preferred but the Council has the discretion to be flexible where the project or investment delivers on priority outcomes and outputs.
Applications are currently being accepted, and the deadline for completion of any proposed purchase/works is March 2025.
Eligibility and limited geographic restrictions apply. Please see the website for more details on eligibility and requirements for submissions.
As part of works to re-invigorate the Market Place in Sleaford, the car park at the Market Place will close as of midnight on Friday 19 July. The ground works are then due to begin at the end of the month.
The space will be re-paved, with raised planters and an up-lighting of the war memorial. Once complete, the area will be more suited to supporting the regular markets and events that take places there.
This will bring several changes such as the temporary re-location of Sleaford Market to Eastgate Car Park. Once works are completed, Sleaford Market will return to the Market Place.
As construction works take place, all businesses around the Market Place will remain open as usual. There are some fantastic businesses in this area, with a few new additions having opened in the last few months.
Find more information regarding preparations for the works on the Council's website.
Teenage Markets are an excellent platform for young entrepreneurs to develop their talents and business skills, providing them with real-world experience in running a business.
