Discover how sustainability can help your business grow

A local business is using their free access to Zellar, subsidised by the Council, to help them with their target of being carbon neutral by 2025. Zellar, an online sustainability platform, helps businesses to reduce their bills and cut their carbon emissions which can attract new eco-conscious customers. Our latest local survey demonstrated that 86% of people in NK want to see businesses be more sustainable, proving that a forward focus on the environment is a growing priority for customers and a way to make your business stand out.

UK Alternative Energy were looking for support with their aim to be carbon neutral by 2025, but it was proving costly, until they heard about the Council's subsidised access to Zellar. Zellar helps businesses measure their emissions and then provides a digital action plan minutes later. When using Zellar, you'll also recieve a Zellar score and a sustainability report, making it easy to track and share progress made. UK Alternative Energy plans to send their sustainability report in support of their application for upcoming business awards. North Kesteven businesses - claim your free access to Zellar and discover simple ways to cut back on your emissions. To qualify for a free one-year Zellar licence a business must be a micro-SME (up to 10 employees) or SME (under 250 employees) with a base in North Kesteven.

Discover Lincolnshire Weekend - Get involved!

This year, Discover Lincolnshire Weekend will be taking place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March. Make the most of the weekend, designed to showcase all that Lincolnshire has to offer.

All Lincolnshire attractions, retailers or food and drink establishments are encouraged to either offer free entry for the weekend or produce a special offer or discount.

More unmissable workshops

In partnership with North Kesteven District Council and Destination Lincolnshire, Unmissable England have been providing face-to-face training, and one-to-one business sessions to support businesses to take new experiences into the marketplace.

Low Carbon Lincolnshire Programme

Business Lincolnshire are offering a programme of support for businesses, with the aim to help businesses on their journey of achieving net zero, in line with UK's aim of net zero by 2050 and the Council's earlier target of 2030.

Many smaller businesses may feel overwhelmed or confused by how to achieve this without spending too much or disrupting current practices. Low Carbon Lincolnshire aims to tackle this challenge by providing much needed support to SMEs in Lincolnshire and Rutland.

Key topics that will be covered include understanding and aiming for Net Zero, decarbonisation, and energy management and supply chains. The next workshop is How to get to Net Zero, taking place on 7 February, 12-1pm.

Sleaford's parking charges

Charges for parking in North Kesteven District Council-operated car parks in Sleaford remain among the county’s lowest, after being frozen for a further year.

Three different levels of charges apply across the NKDC car parks in the town, with Brydone Way (Grantham Road) being the cheapest at 50 pence for up to two hours and £2 for the day.

Additionally, NKDC’s Lafford Terrace car park, off Eastgate, is available to park in for free in the evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays. Visit the Council's website for more details.

The Council offers the service of a Business Support Adviser, Phil Means. Phil can provide a whole range of bespoke advice and support.

Starting in business grant

If you're aged between 18 and 30, you could be eligible for a start up grant of up to £2,000. Visit the Lincolnshire Community Foundation's website for more information.
