The RiverLight team are also looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. This a chance to contribute to an event that will shine a spotlight on Sleaford's vibrant essence. To sign up as a volunteer, please email jo@hub-sleaford.org.uk and include 'RiverLight Volunteer' in the subject line.

Sleaford is taking part in this years Magic Tenner event, a new Totally Locally national campaign for independent high streets and businesses taking place from 7 October until 21 October.
The theory behind the campaign is that spending £10 in a local independent can mean up to £50 going back into the local economy, through the businesses using local suppliers and their staff shopping locally themselves with their wages.
Businesses wanting to take part can email ecodev@n-kesteven.gov.uk for access to the free materials. Our team will be going around Sleaford with posters and a selfie frame, to promote the town's offers.
The second week of the campaign coincides with the RiverLight festival, meaning a £10 offer could help to draw the crowds towards you throughout the fringe events and on the festival finale (see our RiverLight story above). Make sure to follow @BusinessNK on X, formerly Twitter, for regular updates.
Want to kickstart the sustainability journey for your business, but unsure where to begin? The first thing you need is a plan.
Zellar is an online sustainability tool. It guides you through the process of calculating and understanding your carbon emissions and then building an achievable plan to reduce them. North Kesteven District Council is subsidising places on the programme so that 300 local small and medium-sized businesses can access this scheme free of charge.
Our Net Zero page offers a range of different avenues of support focused on helping businesses reach net zero, as well as many funding opportunities. For example, funding for electric vehicles, making buildings greener, and support for low-carbon electricity generation. Visit our Net Zero page to view the support available.
The Rural Business Grant supports capital investments which support green growth in renewables, green power and energy efficiency measures. This grant is being delivered by North Kesteven District Council for DEFRA under the Rural England Prosperity Fund. This allocation is an addendum to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
