Apply for the position of Communications Officer – Wellbeing Lincs

Part-time (18.5 Hours) – Fixed term until 30 September 2024
Grade B2, £27,344 - £29,439 salary per annum, pro rata

North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced and emotionally intelligent communications professional to join it’s small but energetic Wellbeing Lincs team; The successful candidate will display flair and innovation through the promotion and engagement of the Wellbeing Lincs partnership, supporting adults across Lincolnshire through life’s changes. With a high level of commitment to professional standards and a demonstrable appetite and ability for spreading the word and broadening the understanding of the Wellbeing Lincs service. This post puts you at the heart of a busy and fast-paced operation which is critical in promoting the Council’s objectives, services and functions through external and internal communications.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in journalism, marketing or related subjects and experience in a communications role
  • Skill and aptitude for the presentation of complex information in written and pictorial manner suitable to the capabilities of any target audience
  • Experience in social media, graphics for flyers, leaflets, press releases etc.
  • A passion for inclusive communications
  • Knowledge of Counties & Districts and a good understanding of the workings of local government and current issues affecting it
  • IT skills to include Outlook, Word & Databases
  • Experience in planning and delivering communication campaigns to positive effect
  • Experience in graphic design is desirable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that digital marketing content aligns with the organisation’s brand identity and message
  • Develop and maintain all applicable social media, web and digital systems, ensuring all data inputted is accurate and up-to-date
  • Determine priorities to meet planned objectives and requirements, and advise on the future resources and associated costs for provision of the service
  • Writing publicity content such as press releases, newsletters, website copy, and leaflets
  • Create effective and engaging press and social media content
  • Monitoring of social media analytics

Key Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of diplomacy and discretion
  • Highly motivated with effective planning and project management skills able to work to tight and demanding deadlines in a calm, level-headed, and responsive manner
  • Able to proactively and dynamically create content across digital, design and traditional print channels

You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of the Wellbeing Lincs service at an operational level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living in Lincolnshire. Grade C1, £30,151 - £32,909 salary per annum

North Kesteven District Council is seeking a motivated individual to join the Property Services Team. This post puts you at the heart of a Team delivering disabled adaptations services and housing renewal work to both private sector housing and Council housing.

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding and application of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly through multiple channels
  • Effective planning with the ability to work to deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recommend the approval of Disabled Facilities Grants and Private Sector Financial Assistance loans
  • Undertake the Contract Administration role in respect of the Councils Disabled Adaptations
  • Apply applicable determination assessments to establish grant or loan eligibility
  • Process applications in respect of disabled facilities grants and housing renewal loans

Key Attributes:

  • Good communication skills, ability to deal with difficult and confrontational situations
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work primarily on own initiative within work instructions and procedures
  • A highly organised person

You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of the Councils statutory duties at a technical level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working and visiting the district.

Apply for the position of Principal Ecology and Wildlife Officer

Full-time (37 Hours) – Permanent
Grade D1 - £38,296 - £42,503 per annum

Do you want to deliver ecological services and biodiversity gains, helping to create an environment where nature and people thrive? Then working in Central Lincolnshire could be for you. Here you will build relationships with planning officers, the local nature partnership, the local wildlife trust, developers and landowners, and communities with the shared goal of delivering ecological improvements across Central Lincolnshire.

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to help deliver the ecology function and support in delivering Biodiversity Net Gain across the three partner authorities in Central Lincolnshire – City of Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey. The role will sit within the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan Team – a team which has been successfully delivering shared services for more than a decade.

The successful candidate will be an experienced ecologist who is passionate about wildlife and biodiversity.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Ecology or a closely related discipline
  • Substantial professional experience of delivering ecology in relation to planning and development
  • Detailed understanding of legislation in relation to ecology and Biodiversity Net Gain
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills particularly in delivering ecology in development proposals
  • Ability to analyse and manage complex information and present it clearly
  • Good IT skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing functions in relation to Biodiversity Net Gain
  • Providing comments on Biodiversity Gain Statements and submitted metrics
  • Supporting planning officers in delivering ecological benefits on sites
  • Negotiating with developers and landowners to deliver ecology on sites
  • Working on projects to deliver ecology and nature recovery
  • Contributing to ecology policy creation

  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Driven and good at working both solo and as part of a team
  • Highly organised, dynamic and confident
  • Experienced in project management
