A Viking Festival is taking place in Threekingham on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, an opportunity to experience the origins of Danelaw heritage.
The Great Heathen Army of over 300 Vikings will be recreating the Battle of Stow from 870 AD, where they fought with Anglo Saxon defenders. There will be a programme of free lectures, as well as an archeological dig taking place. Entrance and parking are both free and there is lots planned for the whole weekend for family to enjoy.
The Threekingham Viking Festival has received £6,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This money has been distributed by North Kesteven District Council as part of its Events Programme through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which includes funding for new events in North Kesteven.
There is additional funding for first time events in North Kesteven, if you would like to run an event you can apply HERE. Our hope is that by supporting events in the District, we support businesses in the surrounding area, and engage the community.
