Grant schemes to enhance local high streets

Two grant schemes are now available, aiming to enhance local high streets and preserve and enhance the District’s built heritage.

The Sleaford Shopfront Grant Scheme is available to owners and occupiers of commercial properties within Sleaford town. A total fund of £150,000 is being offered towards targeted repairs, reinstatement and replacement of shopfronts. This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Further details of the grant scheme, including terms and conditions, are available by contacting the Heritage Trust of Lincolnshire at consultancy@heritagelincolnshire.org or by emailing planning@n-kesteven.gov.uk and quoting ‘Sleaford shopfront grant’.

Additionally, the North Kesteven Heritage Grant Scheme offers between £1,200 and £3,000 for works to historic buildings in North Kesteven. Funding is available for both residential and commercial buildings.

You can complete the application HERE.

For more information on both schemes, visit Conservation and heritage | North Kesteven District Council (n-kesteven.gov.uk).

Businesses in North Kesteven work towards cutting back their carbon footprint

We've been in touch with the first few businesses to sign up to the Zellar Platform, an online sustainability tool that helps you cut your carbon footprint and energy bills.

Robert Doughty Consultancy Ltd. shared their thoughts:

"We signed up to the platform because it seemed an excellent way to focus minds on our carbon footprint. Thus far there were some relatively straight forward tasks to obtain points"

To qualify for a free one-year Zellar license a business must be a micro-SME (up to 10 employees) or SME (under 250 employees) with a base in North Kesteven. The offer is available to the first 300 qualifying enterprises that apply before 31 March 2024.
