You will have the opportunity to talk to installers of renewable and energy-saving technologies such as our sponsor RES Devon Ltd and also Mitchell and Dickinson.
Target CO2 can assist with energy saving retrofits and provide access to Government funding.
We will have a wide range of the latest electric vehicles including models from BMW/Mini, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Renault, Skoda, Vauxhall, and VW.
The 361 Energy team will be on hand to provide advice on reducing your energy bills and energy efficiency improvements for your home or business. The community liaison team from South West Water will be able to provide advice and support.
A Repair Café will be able to sharpen garden and kitchen tools and mend mechanical appliances in the morning. In the afternoon they can look at repairing electrical appliances. Simple sewing repairs will be available all day. Northern Devon Foodbank will provide advice on cooking nutritious low-cost meals with a slow cooker.
Environmental organisations exhibiting will include the North Devon Biosphere Reserve, Devon Wildlife Trust and Plastic Free North Devon.
There will be entertainment for all the family including live music, and art and science activities around climate change.
Space Odyssey who will be providing live interactive shows about climate change in their mini planetarium. The Exeter Science Centre will bring their complementary ‘Our World from Space’ programme of science activities looking at how satellite observation can help us better understand Climate Change and biodiversity loss.
There will also be an art competition where you can produce a piece of artwork to demonstrate how the climate emergency is impacting our local area. We will have all the materials for producing the artwork and look forward to displaying all the competition entries. If you have the chance to produce your artwork at home before the event, please bring it along to enter the competition and have it displayed as part of the energy fair. The winner of the competition will be chosen by a local artist.
For the first time, the event will include a series of talks in the newly refurbished Corn Store of the Pannier Market. These will cover topics such as the environment and improving the energy efficiency of your home or business.
