First North Devon Community Lottery draw brings prize winners

Charlotte Smart with Park Hotel events manager Steve Ashford.

The first North Devon Community Lottery draw took place on Saturday, bringing multiple prize winners.

The winner of our Super Draw was Charlotte Smart, who wins a three-course meal for two at The Park Hotel in Barnstaple, courtesy of Brend Hotels.

Charlotte, who also won three extra tickets for matching two numbers, is supporting The SMART Action Project CIC, which has been set up to provide more families and young people in South Molton access to affordable swimming opportunities and sessions.

Charlotte said: "I've never entered any sort of lottery before, but I wanted to support SMART Action Project and I thought winning anything would be a bonus. To win a prize straight away was amazing, if unexpected!"

There were £25 prizes for six lottery players, who each matched three numbers on Saturday. Three of the six players opted to donate their winnings back to their chosen causes: The North Devon Community Lottery Central Fund and Special Olympics North Devon.

A total of 16 players matched two numbers, meaning they win three free extra tickets

The lottery has been set up by North Devon Council in a bid to raise money for charities and good causes across North Devon.

Tickets are available to buy online at the North Devon Community Lottery website. Each ticket costs £1, and players have a chance of scooping up cash prizes of up to £25,000.

Draws will be take place each Saturday evening. Winners will be informed by email and will have the money transferred automatically into their bank account.

For every £1 ticket bought, 60p will go to good causes in North Devon. Players will have the option to support a good cause with each ticket they buy. Their chosen cause will receive 50p while a further 10p will go a central fund that will be distributed to good causes. The remaining 40p goes towards prize money and running costs.

If you’ve got tickets for this Saturday's draw, good luck and a big thank you for taking part in the North Devon Community Lottery.

Super draw

There’s also an extra reason to take part in the North Devon Community Lottery this month.

On Saturday, 27 April a national Super Draw will take place and one lucky person will win an iPhone 15 Pro Titanium while supporting their good cause.

Just make sure you have your tickets before Saturday 27 April to be in the Super Draw!

How to play the North Devon Community Lottery

Play the lottery, support North Devon - it's that simple!

Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 a week. Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize each week, with a top prize of £25,000! That's a better chance of winning than the National Lottery or the Health Lottery.

Each ticket has six numbers and each number is between 0 and 9. There will be a draw every Saturday night when a six digit winning combination will be picked. Prizes will be given to players with tickets that match the first or last 2 to 6 numbers from the winning combination. Match all six and you win the jackpot!

A full list of prizes is in the graphic below.

The real winners are the good causes. From every £1 ticket sold 60p will go to good causes in North Devon. To put this in perspective when you play the National Lottery 25% goes to good causes – we’ve more than doubled the ticket percentage that goes to good causes.

Even better, you can choose which good cause gets 50p of the 60p (the remaining 10p will be distributed to other local good causes).
