North Devon turns blue for the NHS

During this difficult period for local businesses we will be sending out a regular e-bulletin to keep our local business owners, and any interested residents, informed.

The bulletins will include up-to-date information on the local and national support available to businesses, and how to access it.

Weekly Zoom sessions for over 55s

If you are aged 55+ and are feeling lonely or isolated, Devon Communities Together are holding weekly Zoom sessions every Tuesday 3:30-4:30pm. Sessions are simple & easy going, with a mixture of chat & activities like quizzes, chair yoga, or drawing practice.

Help for domestic abuse victims

We know that the coronavirus lockdown is escalating the risk to many victim/survivors of domestic abuse who are more isolated than ever before. If you are hesitant about leaving because you're concerned for the safety of your pets, https://refuge4pets.org.uk/ can help by fostering your animals so that you can escape to safety.

Extremists are using the internet to radicalise others. They befriend and groom them into supporting their cause. If you are worried that someone is at greater risk of radicalisation during lockdown, act now.


No excuse for flytipping

These are difficult times but there is never any excuse to flytip. It is harmful to our environment and it costs time & money to clear - at a time when key workers are stretched like never before.

Please hang on to any extra waste you have until you are able to dispose of it responsibly.

We have decided to keep this competition running for one more week to allow more children to take part! Final entries 20/05/20 12pm.

There's still time to enter our colouring competition. Ask your child(ren) to create a drawing or instruction sheet about separating glass from the rest of the items in your recycling box. They can let their imagination run wild!

Send your child’s drawing to communications@northdevon.gov.uk or message our Facebook page and we will decide who’s is best!

Then we’ll use the entries to help spread the message on our social media pages.

The WINNER will receive a fabulous prize!
