If you're emailing our business rates team about a coronavirus business support grant, please make sure you provide the following information as it will help us to get back to you more quickly:
- full name
- business address
- account reference
As we're working our way through the emails we have found that this information is missing from lots of them so even though we've asked you not to send duplicate emails, if you didn't supply all of this in any previous emails, please send in a new one with all of these details on.
If you just need your reference number, email customerservices@northdevon.gov.uk
Any other queries need to be emailed to businessrates@northdevon.gov.uk
Whilst there are many benefits to being online to help you stay connected to family and friends during this period, many parents may feel concerned about the activities and content their children are accessing.
We are supporting Devon & Cornwall Police's new campaign to raise awareness of online grooming and child exploitation. They have collected information to support parents and carers to spot the signs of online exploitation.
It is important to have regular conversations about staying safe online and to encourage your children to speak to you if they come across something worrying online.
It is important for children and young people to stay both connected and safe online. Remember to make use of parental controls and to talk with your children.
If you have downloaded new apps or bought new devices like web cams or tablets, remember to adjust the privacy and security settings to suit you.
Most children have a positive experience online, accessing educational resources and entertainment and connecting with friends and family.
Spending time online can be very beneficial for children, particularly at the moment, but we recognise that many parents may worry about online safety.
You may also be concerned about how long your children are using their devices. The government has published guidance for parents and carers on supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing during COVID-19.
Businesses in northern Devon are being asked how the coronavirus pandemic has affected them, to help their local councils ensure businesses are receivng the right support and to help shape recovery plans.
North Devon and Torridge councils, together with North Devon+, are appealing to local businesses to take part in a short survey that asks what the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has been on4 businesses and what steps they are taking. The results of the survey will help both councils identify where support is most needed, ensure every business is accessing the help available to them and enable the councils to inform central government about the impacts in northern Devon.
We are pleased to announce that with immediate effect the grounds at North Devon Crematorium are open for those who wish to visit to pay their respects.
This follows changes to Government Legislation on 22nd April which removed the legal requirement to close crematorium grounds except for funerals.
If you are a business owner and you’re unsure of what support you are entitled to, or where to access it, our business support flowchart may help you. The flowchart is available on our website.
