'You Choose' Christmas jumper competition
North Lincolnshire Libraries have five signed copies of the latest in the 'You Choose' book series called 'You Choose Christmas' to be won.
Children and young people are invited to decorate a jolly Christmas jumper in any way they choose and can pick up an entry form from any North Lincolnshire library. The closing date for the competition is Saturday 9 December and winners will be chosen by Nick Sharratt himself and announced on the libraries Facebook page.

Relaxed performance available for this year's Christmas Panto
Sometimes a performance environment can be overwhelming for a person and Scunthorpe Theatres wants to make sure everyone has to opportunity to visit the theatre this Christmas.
The Baths Hall have a relaxed performance of their Christmas Panto, Beauty and the Beast, available on Saturday 16 December at 11am.
The house lights are dim, allowing the audience to freely move around if they need to. The sound and lighting levels are lowered to make it more enjoyable for anyone with specific sensory requirements. There is a sensory breakout room, for anyone who may need a break from the auditorium. There will also be a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter throughout the performance.

The Scunthorpe Festival of Christmas Trees starts this weekend
The Rotary Club are inviting families to Old Brumby United Church in Scunthorpe to enjoy the forest of sparkly Christmas delights that have all been individually decorated by schools, nurseries, churches, clubs, and local businesses.
Entry to the festival is free, with an additional attraction this year. Kirsty, from Rhubarb Theatre, will be performing the heart-warming Christmas tale of ‘A Bagful of Stars’ written by local children’s author Addy Farmer. There will be three one-hour sessions, including a craft activity, on each of the Saturdays; 2 and 9 December, commencing at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Step into a winter wonderland at Normanby Hall's Christmas Market
The hugely popular Christmas Market is back on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December between 10am and 4pm and is a Christmas event not to be missed.
The stables in the courtyard have been transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland and with more than 100 artisan food and craft stalls from Lincolnshire and beyond this year, you’ll be sure to find your loved ones a unique Christmas gift!
There will also be magical deer feeding taking place just behind the hall at approximately 11am, where you will be able to watch the park rangers feed the deer a special treat.

Meet Santa at North Lincolnshire Museum
Families will be able to enjoy the magic of Christmas at North Lincolnshire Museum during December.
In partnership with Scunthorpe Lions, children will be able to meet Santa and tell him their Christmas wishes. Each child will receive a gift and the opportunity to have their photo taken.

Christmas festivities at Waters' Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park
With Christmas around the corner, keep the children busy with a variety of festive activities at Waters' Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park in Barton-upon-Humber.
There is a two-day Santa workshop experience on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December, where families can create crafts, sit in Santa's sleigh and write those last minute letters full of Christmas dreams. People can create their own Santa on Friday 22 December or create their own polar bear on Thursday 4 January 2024.

Family music workshops available in Scunthorpe
Join Scunthorpe Theatres for a fun musical experience that is suitable for ages five years and up and one for all the family to enjoy. These are inclusive workshops that take place every Monday, between 4pm and 5pm during term-time.
Led by friendly professionals in the music service, the relaxed sessions will include sing and sign, percussion and body percussion, vocal warmups and learning some familiar and new songs.
