Drop-in events have been organised to help Special Guardians living in North Lincolnshire find out about the free support and exciting activity programme available to them.
The events will take place at The Pods on 10 October between 10.30am and 1pm and 13 October, from 2.30pm and 5pm.

Unite and get moving for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast Cancer Awareness Month has begun and this year we are shining a light on the positive aspects of physical activity, the opportunities available to keep active in North Lincolnshire whilst spreading awareness and reminding people of the early warning signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and the vital role regular checking for early detection plays in saving lives.
This Saturday, 7 October, NL Active are dedicating the launch of their new Les Mills activity programme to a wear it pink day of free fitness sessions. The new releases include Body Pump, Body Combat, Sh’bam and Body Attack.

Spooky family fun at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre
Get ready for a spook-tacular time with a variety of creepy activities for the whole family, including a Wednesday Dance workshop, encounters with real-life creepy crawlies, wicked face painting, and a special appearance by Jack Skellington himself!
Best of all, entry and activities are absolutely free and no booking is required.

Mindfulness morning for families at Ashby Community Hub
This October half-term, on Thursday 26 October between 10am and 1pm, families are being invited to take some time out and try yoga, meditation, creating a worry doll, storytelling and much more.
Free healthy snacks and drinks will be available and the first 150 families who attend will receive a bag full of goodies.

Join North Lincolnshire Libraries for a spooky seasonal reading of Julia Donaldson’s classic tale. There will be two readings, one at 10am and the second at 11am, on Tuesday 24 October at Scunthorpe Central.

Have you heard about the Healthy Start scheme?
Individuals who are more than ten weeks pregnant or have a child under four years old could be entitled to financial support to buy nutritious food, milk and vitamins.
If eligible, the family will receive a Healthy Start card that can be used in a variety of shops and will topped up every four weeks.

Parent workshop: Tackling your child's school avoidance
With Me In Mind are delivering a free virtual workshop, for parents and carers with primary aged children, on Tuesday 17 October from 6pm to 7.30pm who are anxious about attending school.
The workshop will help you recognise the signs, how to help and support your child, understand how anxiety can impact attendance and gain ideas of how to work with your child's school.

Tuesday 10 October marks World Mental Health Day and Citizens Advice North Lincolnshire are holding a peer support event at The Ironstone Centre from 9am to 12 noon.
People will be able to discover the mental health services available, support groups and much more.

Car seat safety session is coming to Barton-upon-Humber
Experts from the Good Egg car safety team are coming to Tesco on Maltkin Road in Barton-upon-Humber on Thursday 19 October, between 10am and 3pm.
Parents can get their child's car seat checked for free and professionals will be on hand to provide a range of advice and information and ensure your little people are sitting safely.
