Childcare payments rise by nearly 50 per cent for families on Universal Credit
Working families who get help with their childcare costs through Universal Credit are now able to access increased support with their childcare bill and can claim hundreds of pounds more in childcare payments.
Parents on Universal Credit can now claim up to £951 for one child and £1,630 for two or more children.
Also, families who are eligible will now receive upfront, immediate support with their childcare costs.

Family sing along - free taster sessions start next week
The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe are offering fun taster sessions for all the family on Monday 3 and 10 July at 4pm.
Parents, guardians and grandparents can come along with their children and sing along together to popular songs from musical favourites and Disney hits.
No booking needed, but all children must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the sessions.

Summer football courses - book now
Have you got a child that loves nothing more than playing football?
780 Coaching and Scunthorpe United have both released the dates for their summer football courses that are taking place in various locations across North Lincolnshire and beyond.
Children as young as five can play football from 10am to 3pm, developing their skills, having fun and meeting new children of a similar age.

The Summer Reading Challenge starts this weekend
This year’s Summer Reading Challenge ‘Ready, Set, Read!’ is about reading, sport and play, and aims to keep children's minds and bodies active over the summer break.
Children just need to register for the scheme at their local library and read six books over the summer.
There are some great rewards to pick up along the way, including rucksacks, frisbees and personal fitness trackers.

Free car seat safety checks
Parents can get their child's car seat checked for free on Thursday 20 July from 10am to 3pm in the Tesco car park on Maltkin Road in Barton-upon-Humber.

Wildlife Day at Waters' Edge Visitor Centre and Country Park is back next month
On Sunday 30 July between 10am and 4pm, families can explore the park and take part in animal handling, pond dipping and other outdoor activities.
The fun, educational day out for all the family also includes animal charity displays, activities and craft workshops in and around the country park.
A tasty selection of food stalls to satisfy the taste buds will also be available.

Apply for 30 hours funding in time for next term
Working families with a three or four year old could be entitled to 30 hours of funded childcare per week but only have until 31 August 2023 to apply in time for next term.
Parents need to apply for their code now, to ensure they have it in place for September.
Once the funding is granted parents will need to check their details are up to date on a regular basis.

Applications open for Adult Education courses for September
If you are looking to learn something new, develop your skills or embark on a new career, Adult Education and Community Learning could have the perfect course for you.
They have a variety of courses available including English, Maths, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Teaching Assistants and many more.
Learners have the option to complete some of their learning at a time and place that is convenient to them, so can manage their time around their family, work or other responsibilities.

Support, workshops and training for carers
Are you looking after a family member or friend who could not cope without your support?
The Carers Support Service has a variety of carer peer support groups that take place in Barton, Brigg, Crosby and the Isle of Axholme.
There are also workshops in caring and coping with stress, mindfulness and resilience and they offer cancer champion training.

Free art club at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre
Each month 20-21 Visual Arts Centre offer a free art club, with a different theme, for children aged eight years and above.
It is completely free and no booking is required.
