Motorbike courses for young people
Are you the parent of a young person aged 12 to 16 who is interested in motorbikes?
Motorbike courses start on Wednesday 26 April and include learning how to ride and handle a motorbike safely and conduct bike checks. The course is four hours long but is spread over two sessions. All sessions will take place on a Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm at Act Fast - Kieradan Park, North Moor Lane, Messingham, Scunthorpe.

Free car seat safety checks
Parents can get their child's car seat checked for free on Thursday 18 May from 10am to 3pm in the Tesco car park at Gallagher retail park in Scunthorpe.
Experts from the Good Egg Car Safety team will be on hand to provide a range of advice and information and ensure your little people are sitting safely.

Get Wild About The Earth at our latest free Discover day
The next amazing Discover event is taking place on Saturday 29 April from 11am to 4pm and events will be happening at Northern Lincolnshire UTC, Scunthorpe Central, 20-21 Visual Arts Centre and Church Square itself.
The theme will be Wild About The Earth, featuring dozens of hands-on exhibits, fun events and mind-blowing experiences. Aimed at families with children aged five to eleven, Discover is a day of interactive fun that helps young minds understand some of the world’s biggest issues.

As part of Stress Awareness Month North Lincolnshire Mind are offering a Stress and Employment Recovery College course, starting Monday 15 May, 4pm to 6pm.
The course will focus on how to recognise stress and ways to manage it in a more positive way.

Who taught you? Become a Supported Lodgings host and shape a young person’s life
Could you open up your home to a young person aged between 16 and 24 years old, to help them learn a variety of valuable skills, including managing a household, cooking, budgeting, and accessing further education and transport?
The Supported Lodgings scheme is designed to provide a stepping-stone for young people, on their route to independence. The fostering team at North Lincolnshire Council are providing information on this scheme during Supported Lodgings Week, Monday 24 to Sunday 30 April.

Let's Get Ready for School event - Saturday 20 May, 10am to 3pm at The Baths Hall
Is your child starting primary school in September?
Families will be able to speak with a range of professionals such as Health Visitors, Community Nursery Nurses, Community and Family Learning, Community Dental Service, and schools, who will all provide advice, support and guidance around starting school.
In addition, there are children's activities including storytelling, arts and crafts and a goody bag for the first 140 children, which includes a copy of a book about starting school.
