Remember to renew your 30 hours or TFC codes

Christmas is a busy time for families but it is important to find five minutes to renew your 30 hours or Tax Free Childcare eligibility codes.

If you are a parent who is accessing the 30 hours funded childcare or Tax Free childcare then you must re-confirm your eligibility for the funding every three months. Failure to do so will mean you do not receive the funding for the following term and you risk being presented with a bill you were not expecting in the New Year.

Check your Childcare Service account today to see if you need to re-confirm before the festivities get into full swing and it risks getting forgotten.

Christmas fun still to come

The decorations are up and the festivities are well under way across North Lincolnshire. If you are looking for some more Christmas activities then check out our Children & Young People’s Activity Guide.

Parent Champions grow from strength to strength

Blue and Orange Parent Champions North Lincolnshire Logo

At the beginning of 2019 we launched our Parent Champion scheme and trained our first two volunteers in April.  Since then they have been busy speaking to parents about childcare funding and local family services. At the end of October 2019 they had spoken to an amazing 253 parents which is just fantastic!

At the beginning of November we were pleased to train another three volunteers who are looking forward to getting out there in 2020 and speaking to as many parents as possible in their local communities.

If you would like one of our Parent Champions to come and speak to a group of parents at your work place, community group, coffee morning or just a group of friends with little ones then please call us on 01724 296629.

Could you be a Parent Champion?

If you are passionate about helping parents in your local area to access the information they need to balance their family and work life and to access local services that can support them then you could be a Parent Champion.

Our next training session for volunteers will take place on Tuesday 28 January 2020 from 10am to 2pm at The Arc Westcliff, Scunthorpe.

For more information and an application form please call our volunteer coordinator Caroline Woolley Monday to Wednesday on 01724 296629 or email caroline.woolley@northlincs.gov.uk.
