The council is planning on submitting a proposal to the Government to apply for Garden City status for Lincolnshire Lakes and surrounding areas and would like your views on the proposal.
The Garden City would cover over 10,000 homes across the whole of Lincolnshire Lakes and a number of nearby areas. It would help reposition and raise the profile of all North Lincolnshire has to offer – putting it firmly on the map as a place to live, work, invest and play.
Two consultation events are taking place to give you the opportunity to have your say and to help shape the draft proposal. Go along to one of the following events and tell the council what you think:
- Wednesday 13 July from 10am to 2pm in the Marks and Spencer car park, North Lincolnshire Retail Park
- Friday 15 July from 10am to 2pm at the Action Station, Cole Street, Scunthorpe
Your views will be considered in the final proposal to be submitted at the end of July 2016.
Further information is available on the council website.

Experience Led Commissioning (ELC)
is about listening to and understanding people’s experiences of health care
services in North Lincolnshire. This
will enable them to design better, more person-centred services that deliver
better health care services for children and young people living with a
long-term condition such as asthma, epilepsy and diabetes in North
Lincolnshire.
Over the last few months the
ELC have been out and about meeting with young people and their parents who use
health services. The next step is to
hold a ‘PATH’ event for young people and their
parents/guardians to come along and work with other young people, their
families and the health professionals who deliver health care to jointly design
what great care should look like for young people with long term conditions.
Friday 15 July - 1.30pm to 4pm at
St Lawrence Academy, Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 7DF
Places are limited so if you would like to attend, please call 0300 3000 563 or email nlccg.embrace@nhs.net
Please let us know if you have any access, dietary or support needs to enable you to attend the event.

Call Connect - Isle of Axholme
CallConnect is a unique bus service whose timetable is not fixed but responds to passenger requests. Routes are different each day depending on the bookings made by passengers. Journey requests can be made by telephone or online. The service is designed to improve transport opportunities in rural communities and some market towns where there is an infrequent conventional bus service.
The service will start across the Isle of Axholme on Monday 4 July 2016. The way it works is simple. You can register at one of the sessions or through the Call Connect page of our website. Tel 0345 2638139
Once you’ve done this, you can use the bus to travel to a whole range of great locations. You can book by telephone or online on the day you wish to travel or up to seven days in advance.
The beauty of this new flexible service is that there is no set route and no set times like a normal bus service. Anyone can use the bus – it operates between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturdays.
There is no minimum number of users; so long as you have booked, the bus will pick you up! Concessionary fare passes are accepted on the CallConnect bus.

Tell us
about your community groups and activities!
The council's Adult Information Service (AIS) maintains a directory of groups and activities for adults, aged 18 and over, who are interested in spending time with people with similar interests. It might be a lunch club, yoga group, a coffee morning for people suffering with lifelong conditions or even a sporting activity for adults with mobility issues.
Our directory is available online here – so you can have a look for yourself at what is available.
Information wanted:
The AIS is keen to expand this directory, and with your help it could be a great information hub for people across North Lincolnshire. So if you run, or know of, an activity or group that isn’t currently on the list, please tell the AIS about it and help promote what's on for local people.
To share details about your group or activity, please email: ais@northlincs.gov.uk or call on 01724 296607.
