NORTH LANARKSHIRE LIBRARIES CELEBRATE BOOK WEEK SCOTLAND

Celebrate Book Week Scotland with North Lanarkshire’s libraries, Monday 19 to Sunday 25 November, with lots of free events for all the family, including author visits, special activities and film screenings.

Highlights of the celebration include –

  • Author and radio presenter, Stuart Cosgrove (Motherwell Library, 20 Nov)
  • Crime novelist and author James Oswald (Wishaw Library, 20 Nov)
  • Acclaimed author Bernard MacLaverty (Coatbridge Library, 21 Nov)
  • Local Wishaw author Thomas Welsh (Wishaw Library, 21 Nov)
  • Facts Matter – Fake News, a workshop on misinformation in the age of information overload (Coatbridge Library, 21 Nov)

Local libraries will also be giving residents the chance to enjoy films from the big screen.

  • Relax with Miss Jean Brodie in Maggie Smith (12) (Airdrie Library, 21 Nov)
  • Enjoy BEANOTOWN with Dennis and Gnasher Unleashed (Airdrie Library, 24 Nov).
  • Join Castle Comics at Cumbernauld Library for X-Men (12A) (21 Nov) or Batman (PG) (24 Nov).
