 Even
after you’ve made turkey sandwiches, turkey curry and turkey soup, there’s
usually still some bones at least left – so remember to put them in your food
waste recycling caddy.
Any
cooked or uncooked food can be placed in the bin for recycling, and bins are
collected every week.
All
food waste is recycled to produce liquid fertiliser and renewable power. We all
have more waste than normal over the festive period, so please place it in the
bin – otherwise it goes to landfill, which costs more and is bad for the
environment.
Here’s
a reminder of what can be put in your food waste caddy:
- Raw
and cooked meat and fish, including fat, skin and bones
- Fruit
and vegetables, including cores and peelings
- Bread,
cakes and pastries
- Egg
shells
- Pet
food, wet and dry
- Rice,
pasta or beans, and
- Tea
bags and coffee grounds.

food caddy or bin, we’ll replace them free of charge. Call 01698 403110.
