Airdrie Academy pupils enjoyed a fabulous
Prom night recently. The event was held
at the Westerwood Hotel and was a great
success. The pupils all looked glamorous
in their formal attire and danced the night away. The evening was a celebration of this S6
group who have been a delight to work with.
Everyone enjoyed the evening immensely.
Special thanks to Mrs Dewar, Mrs Lennox and the S6 Events Management
Team who organised the Prom.

The Parent/Teacher Fundraisers are happy to announce that a spectacular £867.17 was collected at bag-packing in Tesco at the weekend. There were 30 pupils who took part and they packed bags from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Even Merit the Ferret made a special appearance.
The monies raised will be split between school projects and Vision Africa. Pupils gained house points for taking part, with Faskine clocking up the most hours, followed closely by Cleddans, then Monklands and Rochsoles.
Thank you to everyone who took part.
The S6 pupils enjoyed a fabulous send off on their last day of school. Pupils organised a fitting assembly where they watched a video which reflected the many events that had taken place throughout the year. There were pupil performances and the distribution of certificates to celebrate the many successes that pupils had enjoyed this session. The S6 pupils had a fabulous time reminiscing together and of course had the opportunity to take part in shirt signing!
They have been a wonderful group who have contributed hugely to the wider life of the school. We wish them well as they move on from Airdrie Academy to embark on new adventures.

Throughout this term all of the S1 classes
from Airdrie Academy have been visiting the Sky Academy in Livingston. The pupils have been given an opportunity to
create and star in their own news broadcast based on the issue of ‘cyber
bullying’.
The pupils have been
thoroughly enjoying the experience and have been learning a great deal about
the world of the media and about team work and cooperation. Pictured are 1F1 on their recent visit.
