You do not need a diagnosis to access CAMHS support for your young person. You can self-refer if you require additional support or referrals. If you have any questions or are worried about your child’s mental health, please contact our SEMH duty line on 020 7527 335 from 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday.
If your young person is in crisis and you need support - you can contact:
1. SEMH - 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday: 020 7527 3355 for advice and guidance
2. CAMHS Out of Office Hours Crisis Line – via NHS 111 option 2 (Mental Health)
We recommend reaching out and joining a support group to a find a community of people who understand what you are going through. Your child/ young person does not need to have a diagnosis for you to attend any of these parent support groups.

SENDIASS Coffee Mornings
Join the SENDIASS team and other parents/carers for coffee mornings once a month. Please see their website for latest information around dates.

St Luke’s Coffee Mornings
Join the coffee morning run by the Parent Carer Forum, for all SEND needs. Mondays monthly from 9:30am to 11:00am.

Islington Parent Carer Forum
A parent-led organisation who work with Islington council to improve SEN service. Parent support coffee mornings monthly at 61-71 Lough Road, N7 8FF. 9:30am-11:00am. Last Friday of the month.
SEN Family Saturdays
Saturday drop-in session for children with SEN, aged 0-7, and their families. There is currently a waiting list for this service but you can find out more here.
Growing Hope Organisation
Growing Hope King’s Cross is a charity offering free therapy for children and young people (0-18) with additional needs. They also provide support for parents, carers and siblings through our groups and courses. The clinic is open to everyone in the Camden and Islington area.
Sunflower Parent Carer Support
Parent led support group meeting bi-monthly, held at North Library. They run every other Tuesday from 10:00am-12:00pm. The group also offer family fund days and meet ups with teens!

CAMHS Waiting List Workshops
Check the live calendar for information on the dates for our next two part in person workshop to support parents and carers who are waiting for their young person to be assessed by the neurodevelopmental team. These workshops will be offered once a month so don't worry if you are unable to book on for this series!
You will be invited to all the waiting list workshops if you are on our waiting list and we have your email, you will be sent an Eventbrite link to sign up to these events. Please register if you wish to attend. There is a maximum capacity of 30 tickets per session, so please make sure you sign up promptly.

Tuesday 12th and Tuesday 19th May these take place from 10:00am - 12:30pm at the Whittington Education Centre (near the Whittington hospital). These sessions are for parents/carers of Primary Aged children.

Tuesday 9th and Tuesday 16th June these take place from 10:00am – 12:30pm at the Whittington Education Centre (near the Whittington hospital). These sessions are for parents/carers of Secondary Aged young people only

Monday 13th and Monday 20th July these take place from 10:00am - 12:30pm at the Whittington Education Centre (near the Whittington hospital). These sessions are for parents/carers of Primary Aged children.

Autism Webinars: Autism Central provide free webinars around various different topics relating to parenting neurodivergence - check out their April timetable here. They also provide 1:1 support sessions for parents with peer educators.
Free Parent Resource Pack: Witherslack have created a resource pack to give support around various areas of daily life that may be challenging for your neurodivergent young person.
Free Sensory Drop-Ins: St George's provides sensory drop-in sessions for families with children with additional needs. This includes children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, dyspraxia, Tourettes, SEMH, adoption, trauma, school avoidance, and any other needs, no diagnosis is needed, just come as you are.

Occupational Therapy Drop-In
'We run monthly drop in sessions to provide parents and carers the opportunity speak to an occupational therapist (OT) about concerns they may have regarding their child’s development, sensory needs, or self help skills. Sessions are generally 20 minutes long and offered on a first come first serve basis with no referral needed. Please contact us for dates. If your child requires further assessment a referral will be needed.'
