You do not need a diagnosis to access CAMHS support for your young person. You can self-refer if you require additional support or referrals. If you have any questions or are worried about your child’s mental health, please contact our SEMH duty line on 0207 527 3355.
If your young person is in crisis and you need support - please contact the CAMHS 24 hours crisis line on 0800 151 0023 (for out of hours/bank holidays/weekends support)
We recommend reaching out and joining a support group to a find a community of people who understand what you are going through. Your child/ young person does not need to have a diagnosis for you to attend any of these parent support groups.

SEND Friends at Parent House
Parent/carer's fortnightly term-time coffee mornings on Wednesdays, 10am to 12pm, From September it will be taking place fortnightly on Tuesdays at The Parent House, Calshot Street, London, N1 9AS
ADHD Islington Parent Support Group
Coffee Mornings run every 1st Thursday of the month 9:30am-11:30am at The Rose Bowl Youth Centre, N1 2PT - Term time only.
SENDIASS Coffee Mornings
Join the SENDIASS team and other parents/carers for coffee mornings once a month. Family Action, Lough Road Centre, 61-71 Lough Road, N7 8RH
St Luke’s Coffee Mornings
Join the coffee morning run by the Parent Carer Forum, for all SEND needs. Takes place on the first Monday of every month in term time. 9:30am to 11am at 90 Central Street, EC1V 8AJ

Islington Parent Carer Forum
A parent-led organisation who work with Islington council to improve SEN service. Parent support coffee mornings monthly at 61-71 Lough Road, N7 8FF - from 9:30am-11:00am, on the third Friday of the month. Term time only.
SEN Family Saturdays
Saturday drop-in session for children with SEN, aged 0-7, and their families. There is currently a waiting list for this service but you can find out more here.
Growing Hope Organisation
Growing Hope King’s Cross is a charity offering free therapy for children and young people (0-18) with additional needs. They also provide support for parents, carers and siblings through our groups and courses. The clinic is open to everyone in the Camden and Islington area.

Join a support group for parents whose young people (11-16) are on the CAMHS assessment waiting list for Autism and/or ADHD. The 6-week online program aims to help parents better understand potential Autism and ADHD, offer practical management strategies, prepare for the assessment process, and provide a focus on parental well-being and peer support.

CAMHS Waiting List Workshops
Check the live calendar on the Parent/Carer corner to sign up for a two part in person workshop to support parents and carers who are waiting for their young person to be assessed by the neurodevelopmental team. These workshops will be offered once a month so don't worry if you are unable to book on for this series!
There are different groups for parents/carers of primary aged and secondary aged children. Please ensure you sign up to the relevant group for your young person.
Secondary School age:
22nd and 29th September at Centre 404 - Bookings for this group are now sold out, but you can book to go on the wait list or sign up for the December Group.

Free PDA webinars: At Peace Parents is a great organisation who provide free webinars for parents and carers around demand avoidance. Make sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to access the webinars. At Peace Parents can also be found on Instagram @atpeaceparents
Autism Webinars: Contact for Families with Disabled Children provide free webinars around various different topics relating to parenting neurodivergence. They also provided 1:1 support sessions for parents with peer educators.
Free Parent Resource Pack: Witherslack have created a resource pack to give support around various areas of daily life that may be challenging for your neurodivergent young person.
Free Phone Support Service: Listening Ear provide free 1:1 phone support to parents.
Free Sensory Drop-Ins: St George's provides sensory drop-in sessions for families with children with additional needs. This includes children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, dyspraxia, Tourettes, SEMH, adoption, trauma, school avoidance … and any other needs … no diagnosis is needed, just come as you are.

Occupational Therapy Drop-In
'We run monthly drop in sessions to provide parents and carers the opportunity speak to an occupational therapist (OT) about concerns they may have regarding their child’s development, sensory needs, or self help skills. Sessions are generally 20 minutes long and offered on a first come first serve basis with no referral needed. Please contact us for dates.
