The Health Research Authority has been working with partners as part of the UK Clinical Research Delivery (UKCRD) programme to introduce changes to help speed up to the study set-up at site process and ensure there is a consistent approach across the UK.
Last year we carried out a survey asking people working across health and social care research about their experience of study set-up at sites.
We shared the results of the survey in August 2025 and used the results to create a benchmark to measure experience of study set-up at site.
We promised that we would repeat the survey again in 2026 to see what progress we have made.
Share you feedback
We want to see if the changes that we have introduced over the past year have improved your experience of study set-up at site in the UK.
To do this we are asking you to complete a short survey that should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
The survey closes at 5pm on Monday 13 April 2026.
Find out more
You can find out more about the survey, including taking a look back at the results from 2025, on the HRA's website.
If you have any questions about the survey please email communications@hra.nhs.uk

Coming soon: update to the suite of model research agreements
We’ll soon be publishing our updated suite of model research agreements, including non-CTIMP agreements, to align with amended clinical trials regulations which come into force on 28 April 2026.
Thank you to everyone who has given feedback on our draft model Clinical Trial Agreement (mCTA) and the related suite of commercial template agreements in the UK.
We’re working through the updates and plan to publish ahead of the regulations coming into force so that you have time to prepare for the changes.
We’ll let you know when the suite is published in a future HRA Now.
