As we reach the end of the year, it’s a good time to pause and reflect on all we have achieved during 2023 at the HRA, and I think there’s plenty to be merry about.
Without the HRA Community supporting our dedicated staff the HRA simply couldn’t exist, so firstly, I want to say a huge thanks to all those who work with us year round to help make it easy to do research that people can trust.
This year, our Research Ethics Committees (RECs) have reviewed over 3,000 studies, our Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG) have provided advice on 120 applications regarding the use of confidential patient information without consent, and our Public Involvement Network has spent 214 days supporting our work this year.
We shared some more numbers summarising recent progress of our strategy in this brilliant infographic, which also indicates the areas we will focus on in 2024.
Our highlights of 2023 certainly have our strategy at their core, and have been made possible thanks to the spirit of collaboration between our colleagues, our communities, and across the health and research sector.
For more on this, and what we look forward to in 2024, read my festive message on the HRA website.
I hope you enjoy a break over the holiday period, but should you need to contact us, please check our opening hours for details on which teams are contactable over Christmas, and for the latest updates you can follow us on X @HRA_Latest.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and look forward to sharing more from the HRA in 2024.
