Get involved in the work of the HRA

In this section you can find out about the different ways of working with us.

Help us recruit the best people to work at the HRA

We're looking for around 10 members of the public to help us recruit the best people to work at the HRA. By involving you in recruitment, you can offer us a unique view on prospective employees and help us ensure they match our values and share our commitment to involving people.

We can offer involvement fees of £150 per day, £75 per half day and £25 for shorter tasks. If you are interested in supporting staff recruitment at the HRA, please let us know by 12pm on Wednesday 8 February 2023.

Make It Public - Research Transparency

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and openness in health and social care research, we will be holding a series of free online workshops in March 2023. These practical sessions are for anyone involved in or carrying out research.

We’ve made a commitment to support the research community to make trusted information from health and social care research publicly available for the benefit of all. We’re working with partners from across research on Make It Public. This campaign supports anyone involved in research to make changes to be more open and transparent. We’ll also publish a Make It Public annual report in March 2023, setting out how the research community is working towards greater transparency.

Tuesday 21 March 2023 | 2pm to 4pm | Feeding outcomes back to participants
Wednesday 22 March | 2pm to 4pm | Publishing summary results of trials
Thursday 23 March | 2pm to 4pm | Raising awareness of research opportunities

Each workshop will focus on a key issue in research transparency from our Annual Report. We’ll feature updates, learning and best practice from across the sector. To ensure these workshops lead to something tangible and useful, each session will have an objective to develop a set of criteria or top tips relating to the theme of the session, that will be of practical value to all those involved in research.

Please register for one or more of these events before Friday 17 March 2023.

Business planning meeting - 31 January 2023

Yesterday, three members of the Public Involvement Network and three Research Ethics Committee members joined our business planning meeting session to help us make decision about what we do next year. It was a fantastic day with some great, through-provoking discussions. Thank you all for your time. More to follow.
