Public consultation now live!
In this consultation, the NDA wants to hear from members of the public, nuclear regulators, employees from within our NDA group operating companies, subsidiaries, trade unions, local authorities, Site Stakeholder Groups (SSGs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and any other organisation or public body. In your response, please state whether you are responding as an individual or representing the views of an organisation.
If you are responding on behalf of an organisation, please make it clear who the organisation represents and, where applicable, how you assembled the views of members.
The consultation focusses on a series of questions throughout the document.
However, we are happy to receive all comments on how our strategy or its implementation can be improved and we will consider where appropriate.

The consultation is open for 12 weeks until 29 September 2025.
When considering responses to this consultation, the NDA will give greater weight to those that are based on argument and evidence, rather than simple expressions of support or opposition.
Responses should be sent to strategy5@nda.gov.uk

At the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), we have an obligation, under the Energy Act (2004), to decommission the UK’s earliest nuclear sites safely, securely and sustainably, with care for the environment and the communities adjacent to our sites.
Our nationally important mission spans several decades and this revised strategy sets out a clear roadmap for how we’ll manage one of the UK’s most complex long-term environmental challenges, delivering a positive and long-lasting legacy for future generations.
