Shine a light on a council service, team or colleague

Thank you to Christine Braithwaite

Sam Wilkinson, Deputy Manager at Nottingham Home Care, has been in touch to give a huge thank you to Christine Braithwaite who has recently retired as a Home Care worker after 43 years at the council:

"Christine has been a Home Care worker since 1981 and has walked the many streets of Nottingham in her time at the council and most people know and love her smiley face. Christine will be sadly missed by all her colleagues and we all wish her well for her retirement."

WOW 43 years! Huge thank you Christine for your dedication and care you have provided to Nottingham citizens. Enjoy your well deserved retirement!

Thank you to Cindy Miller in the Customer Hub.

A citizen contacted 'Have Your Say' to compliment Cindy Miller in the Customer Hub.

"I would like to thank Cindy Miller in the Customer Hub. When working on reception at Loxley House, Cindy was professional in dealing with a very difficult situation. I tried three times to speak to someone about amending my direct debit details. Cindy went above and beyond to support me, Thank you!"

Thank you Cindy, for ensuring this citizen received fabulous customer service.

Thank you to Leon McHale in FM

Lynne Baitup, in the Commissioning and Market Development Team, has been in touch to thank Leon McHale in Facilities Management:

"Please give a huge shout out to Leon McHale.

"As floors three and four in Loxley House have now closed, and with meeting rooms at a premium, Leon has been exceptionally helpful!

"I had some meeting rooms booked throughout the year through Condeco, however I noted in a manager email bulletin that the rooms would no longer be available after March. There were no other rooms available and Leon helped me find and book an alternative space for most of my meetings, he has been very patient, helpful and remained positive throughout! Please give him a huge shout out as he turned a disaster into a positive."

A well deserved compliment! Thank you Leon for providing such professional support to colleagues.

Easter Celebrations at Albany House Day Centre

Citizens at Albany House Day Centre celebrated Easter in style with baking activities, enjoyed a tea dance with karaoke and held an Easter raffle.

Citizens also enjoyed a shopping trip to buy Easter eggs for their family members, something they would not have been able to do on their own.

Thank you to all staff at Albany House Day Centre for making these events possible.

Thank you to James Chantler – Technical Support Analyst

Wendy Hopkins, IT Service Desk Manager, has been in touch to pass on fantastic feedback she has received for James Chantler – Technical Support Analyst:

"I have received a lovely compliment from Cathy Scales, Parking Regulation and Compliance Service Manager.

"The Parking Regulation and Compliance service recently commissioned a new walkie talkie radio system with a third party supplier, however there was a few issues that had been overlooked by the supplier to ensure connection to the council's IT network. James went above and beyond to talk through the requirements.

"The supplier praised James for this assistance stating: “James, has been fantastic. Can you pass on my thanks please as he has really helped us get this project over the line. He has been great”.

Cathy Scales said: "James clearly brings with him a strong work ethic, putting in extra effort when required to meet team and organisational goals.

"James has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to help my team and the wider organisation. He has actively collaborated with stakeholders and has willing offered his support where needed. He has assisted us in tackling a complex issue and has been able to quickly identify the root cause of the problem and implement an effective solution.

"James has exhibited a deep understanding of the software and tools in his field and has been proficient in their usage. He demonstrates resilience in the face of challenges, persevering to achieve success.

"James leads by example, modelling positive behaviour and work ethic for others to follow.

"Thank you very much for all of your swift, effective and efficient help James, it is very much appreciated.”

Incredible feedback for our IT superstar James - thank you for providing an outstanding service!

"I have been impressed by his drive and enthusiasm for the project. He is passionate about making Travel Well the best it can be and has the unusual balance of being super creative as well as super organised. Well done Samuel!"

Thank you to CPO Phillip Johnson

A citizen has been in touch through 'Have Your Say' to thank CPO Phillip Johnson:

"Over the past six months my neighbours have been a huge problem to me in terms of noise and anti social behaviour. CPO Johnson, assigned to the case, has been nothing short of amazing - he has been proactive, persistent, and has gone above and beyond in every way possible to try to resolve the issue. He has kept me informed every step of the way, and has been unfailingly courteous and professional; I have often felt hopeless and exhausted by the barrage of noise from next door, but he's been a staunch supporter and ally, and keeps me moving forward despite the lack of peace in my own home."

Thank you Phillip for providing an outstanding service to residents during this problematic time.

Marcus Garvey Lunch

Residents from the Cherry Trees, Spring Meadow and Martin Jackaman day centres, were all invited for lunch at the Marcus Garvey Centre.

They all enjoyed a delicious meal and it was a great opportunity to attend and enjoy a cultural activity together.

Many thanks to staff at the Marcus Garvey centre and also to colleagues at our day centres for making these events possible.

Thank you to Ozzy in Processing and Enforcement

We have received a lovely compliment through 'Have Your Say' for Ozgur (Ozzy) Polat in
Processing and Enforcement:

"I spoke with Ozzy this morning about a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) I received in 2022. Despite my appeal, I received letters from the Traffic Enforcement Agency threatening legal action, which caused me severe health distress. I spoke with Ozzy, in the Processing and Enforcement team, and he was amazing! He contacted the Agency and arranged for the fine to be delayed until the appeal has been looked into. He has reassured me which has significantly helped with my mental health. Please pass on my sincere thanks to him."

Fabulous feedback Ozzy, thank you for providing incredible customer service and reassuring this citizen.

Easter Biscuit Baking Activity at The Willows Day Service

Citizens at the Willows day centre all got into the Easter spirit and baked biscuits and held an Easter raffle as part of the celebrations.

Activities like these help keep our citizens engaged and increase mental and social wellbeing.

Thank you to all staff at the Willows day centre for providing these fabulous activities to help increase citizens self esteem along with a delicious home baked treat.

Thank you to Amanda PansCastillo in the Customer Hub

Another fabulous compliment received through 'Have Your Say' for Amanda PansCastillo in the Customer Hub:

"I would like to thank Amanda for all her help and assistance with completing my garden bin subscription over the phone, as I was unable to complete this online. Amanda is a credit to the council and is very lovely, helpful and polite to speak to."

Customer Service superstar! Thank you Amanda for providing amazing service to our citizens.

Holi Celebrations at Day Care Services at Indian Centre

The festival of Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, was celebrated at Day Care services at the Indian Centre.

Citizens spent time making Holi decorations and cards to give to their loved ones. On this day people apply colour to each other and playfully use water guns and water-filled balloons to colour each other. As part of the celebrations citizens applied symbolic colour on their forehead.

Thank you to all colleagues involved in organising the celebratory events and making them fun and memorable for our citizens.
