Thank you to Daniel Underwood

Marc Danyluk, Customer Hub Manager, has been in touch to say goodbye and a huge thank you to Daniel Underwood in the Customer Hub:

"Dan has worked for the council for almost 23 years and has shown a real dedication to Nottingham citizens. Dan has worked in various front-line roles including the previous 'Neighbourhood Services Contact Centre' through to his most recent role in the Have Your Say Team. Dan deals with customer service requests ranging from complaints to receiving lots of the lovely compliments we receive and read in these weekly Good Things Happening emails.

"I want to thank Dan for all his hard work on behalf of the Customer Services Team, we are sorry to see him go and he will be missed very much. We all wish Dan all the best in his new role outside of the council. Good luck for the future Dan!

Huge thank you Dan, for your dedication to the council and to our Nottingham citizens. You really will be missed! Good luck for the future.

Thank you to Andrew Miller and his team at Harvey Hadden

We have received a lovely compliment from Andy Whitley, in Environment and Sustainability, for General Manager, Andrew Miller and all the team at Harvey Hadden Sports Village:

"I would like to thank Andrew and team at Harvey Hadden Sports Village for the great work I experienced as a visitor to the centre to see my daughter compete in the county swimming championships. I knew it would be a very busy day for all the staff as they also had a National Kick Boxing Championship event taking place at the same time.

"The centre had hundreds of competitors and spectators at the site, and I have to say, they all did a great job in organising the site from having car parking marshalls to the Bean Culture café running all day. The general organisation was an extremely good advert for all of the Active Nottingham team. Thank you!"

Fantastic feedback for Andrew and all the team at Harvey Hadden Sports Village, thank you for the smooth organisation of the many events you host alongside the daily fitness schedules - you are all amazing!

Thank you to James Rawson

Catherine Field in the Pathway Team, has been in touch to give a shout out to James Rawson at the Riverside Bean Culture café in Bulwell:

"I would like to thank James, the Catering Supervisor at Riverside Bean Culture café in Bulwell.

"I work for Pathway who support citizens with Learning Disabilities one to one and I recently visited the café with one of my citizens.

"Unfortunately my citizen knocked her cup of tea over and when I asked for a mop to clear it up, James not only cleaned up the area, but he kindly made her a fresh cup of tea and refused to take any money for it.

"James was so kind and respectful and helped to put my citizen at ease when she was feeling embarrassed.

"I am also delighted to hear that there are plans for James to train adults with learning disabilities in the Bean Culture café."

What an absolute star you are James! Thank you for being kind, professional and considerate to customers. It is wonderful to hear that you will be supporting our vulnerable citizens to learn new work experience skills - thank you!

Thank you to Joanne Hanson at The Oaks Residential Care Home

Armadeep Bhattal, Care Services Manager, has been in touch to give a shout out to Joanne Hanson at The Oaks Residential Care home:

"One of the ambitions within the Adult Social Care strategy is to strengthen and develop the workforce. The ILM Level 3 Award and ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management programmes have been designed for individuals who can take responsibility for managing a team but have no formal training and are keen to develop their personal and work abilities.

"Joanne, Care Worker Level 3, is completing the ILM course whilst working in her role full-time. Joanne intends to utilise the skills gained from the course to enhance service delivery and develop her own professional experience.

"Joanne has worked for the council for over 15 years and, as part of discussions with her manager during her check-in and objective setting meetings, she has decided to enrol onto the ILM programme."

Joanne says: "It has been hard work, but with the support from my Prostart tutor and the management team at The Oaks, I am enjoying the course and using the knowledge in my role. The tutors are very friendly and makes learning a pleasurable experience."

Thank you Joanne for studying the ILM programme whilst managing your own workload and incorporating your new skills into your role. This is a fantastic example of how important the check-in and objective settings meetings with your managers are, and how they can positively contribute to career development.

Thank you to Kath Sutton in Housing Services

A Housing Services tenant has shared a lovely compliment for Customer Services Advisor, Kath Sutton:

“Kath patiently listened to my problems and issues. Kath contacted the letting team to check my furniture eligibility and provided me with an independent furniture provider who can help me.

"Kath also helped to resolve issues with my tenancy pet eligibility confirmation for my voluntary dog fostering. All of these issues have been heavily affecting my mental and emotional health for way too long.

"Please forward my thanks to Kath and her team manager, I could not expect a better response and service.”

Adama Rashid, Housing Services Customer Services Team Leader said: "Well done Kath, this is a very detailed compliment and shows just how dedicated you are to providing the best service to our tenants and ensuring they leave every interaction with you feeling happy and relieved. Great work as always!"

We love to receive such fabulous compliments from residents. Huge thank you Kath for being a customer service superstar and helping to resolve issues that our tenants raise.

Albany House Day Centre hosts Willows Day Centre Citizens

Citizens from the Willows Day Centre recently visited Albany House Day Centre to take part in some extended Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Citizens took part in a raffle and activities, which included name the teddy and guess how many hearts were there in the jar. The hearts were made by the 'knit and natter group' and then given as little pocket hugs to citizens.

The afternoon included a volunteer DJ, which everyone enjoyed and, after all that dancing, citizens enjoyed fish and chips for lunch.

Thank you to all involved with these across service visits. It is lovely to see our citizens meet up and make new friendships.

Thank you to the Cleaning Operative in the NG8 area

A compliment has been received, through Have Your Say, for Cleansing Operatives in the NG8 area:

"I would like to praise the crew who work on the Assisted Pull Out Service in the NG8 area - they are excellent! I really do appreciate everything they do for me. I have been a user of the service for many years and they are always very friendly towards me. I am housebound and sometimes it is just nice to see them and shout over a friendly 'good morning'."

Lovely feedback! Thank you to all of the cleansing operatives in the NG8 area - this resident clearly appreciates your service with a smile. 😊

Coffee Morning for Citizens at Indian Centre Day Services

Colleagues at Day Care Services at the Indian Centre organised a coffee morning with citizens enjoying refreshments and reminiscing with friends over a good cup of coffee.

Taking part in these events gives a strong sense of belonging to all involved and citizens benefit immensely by getting together.

You can't beat a good cup of coffee, thank you to all involved in organising these events for our citizens to enjoy.
