Spring is here – and so is your garden waste collection!

Get mowing that lawn and pruning the plants – garden waste collections will soon start up again in the city!

For those of you that receive garden waste collections, your first collection of the year will take place on your first normal recycling collection in April. Just put your brown garden waste bin out with your grey lidded recycling bin.

We are supporting Keep Britain Tidy in their National Community Clear Up Day!

Saturday 21 March is the first day of spring - so why not organise a clean up to spruce up your area?

We are providing any groups and individuals who are taking part with bags, gloves and litter pickers, and collecting all the rubbish at the end of the day.

So whether you're a group of friends and neighbours, a litter clean-up group, a local business, a school or on your own, what better way to kick off the season than by organising a big spring clean?

Our Neighbourhood Development Teams and Street Scene staff have been working on many 'Days of Action' and 'Weeks of Action' in neighbourhoods. They have been tackling issues in New Basford, Bulwell and Sherwood and next week they will be hitting Radford and Forest Fields.

We know dog fouling is a priority for many residents in the city so we work hard to tackle it - but we need your help!

Our three FIDO Teams work to a 'hotspot' list of common streets and areas where dog mess is problem so they can clear it quicker.

They also rely on residents reporting dog mess so they can clear it up quickly so it isn't a blight on neighbourhoods. We also pass this information onto Community Protection so they can carry out covert operations to try and catch irresponsible dog owners.
