Latest News

Works are progressing well and are on target for the building to be water tight by Christmas. The pool tank tiling is approximately 60% complete. The Athletic Stadium works are also progressing well with the excavation works for the 8th lane now complete and new drainage and infield preparation going to plan.

Swimming and Aquatic Clubs

We are continuing discussions with all of the swimming and aquatic clubs who currently use our Nottingham City Council pools. We are first meeting with clubs currently using Beechdale Swimming Centre to discuss options ready for the opening of Harvey Hadden. We will then meet all other Nottingham City based swimming and aquatic clubs, and plan to do this over the next couple of months.

We are keen that the programming of our pools will meet the needs of both the clubs and the public and provide the best service possible. For more information with regards to pool space please contact: Lesley.Taylor@nottinghamcity.gov.uk.

New footpath created

As part of the redevelopment we have created a new 2.2m wide tarmac footpath and cycle route. The path runs round the perimeter of the site between Stanwick Close/Calveley Road to Wigman Road. This regularly used route across the park used to be narrow, muddy and often water-logged track. We’re grateful to the Local Sustainable Transport project for help with funding these works and feel it’s a great improvement on the old mud track!

Design a mascot for the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games

The first event planned for Harvey Hadden when it re-opens will be the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games between 7-16 August next year. Cerebral Palsy Sport England and Wales are currently asking young people under 16 years to name and design the official Mascot for the games.

The competition can be entered by an individual, as a class or a school. The closing date for entries is 28th November 2014 and the winner will be announced on 21st January 2015. The winning entrant will receive tickets to the opening ceremony on Sunday 9th August 2015 and to an event at the Games.
