Outdoor Theatre tickets selling fast

The summer is upon us and that means picnics, sunny evenings, and thespians taking to the stage against the beautiful backdrop of Nottingham's heritage sites!

This year there are 3 venues, 5 companies, 14 shows. There's Shakespeare, Roald Dahl, Conan-Doyle, Emily Bronte and Oscar Wilde and much more to choose from. The 2013 prices have been held too. Oddsocks have sent us some video footage of their rehearsals - watch it here. It'll make you laugh.

The Great Notts Show Returns - FREE

Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th on the Old Market Square

The Great Notts Show returns - and this year the show will be taken to a whole new level.

Do you love food? Want to know where it has come from? Who has made it? Grown it? We are all taking more interest in where our food comes from and how it is made - this show celebrates that love and interest in food and crafts.

There will be 50 stalls within Old Market Square, one of which features Famous Nottingham Butcher Johnny Pusztai.

The food on sale draws its influences from all over the world. You will find Thai, Greek, Mexican, Italian, Indian, Caribbean and much, much more.

A market to support the event, that has over 30 stalls covering a range of, arts, crafts and retail, can be found on Smithy Row and Long Row.

Bands in the Park - Sunday 15 June

Nottingham's favourite free band concert series continues this weekend with Carlton Brass at the Arboretum. Kick off is at 2pm. More here

On Monday 16 June take a heritage walk in the Arboretum. FREE

Make your Dad happy on Father's Day - Sunday 15 June

Take your Dad to Nottingham Castle to make like Robin Hood with our "Have a Go Archery". It's £1 per person and you can try to beat our very own Robin Hood!

Wollaton Hall, featured in the Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, is offering tours at 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Sunday. Lasting around an hour these are excellent value and really bring the history of the site to life.

Don't forget! Newstead Abbey; Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Castle each have cafés where you can take Dad for some delicious treats.

Discover the enjoyment of cycling with Sky Ride - FREE

Sky Ride Local in Nottingham - Sunday 15 June at 10am

Nottingham is a great place to cycle, and now there are even more opportunities for you and your family to get out and about on your bike in the area. Join us on Sunday for the Wollaton Hall Circular. It'll take around 1 hr 45 mins. You need a helmet and a Mountain Bike or Hybrid too. The route is completely off-road, kid friendly and set within the beautiful grounds of Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. There will be opportunities to feed the ducks and geese that congregate around the Lake! Book NOW it's free - there's 31 places left!

2014 Aegon Nottingham Challenge - The Finals: FREE

Brilliant weather all weekend too!

This takes place on the 14 &15 June at Nottingham Tennis Centre from 11am until finish up to 8 or 9pm. Indoor if wet.

Entrants compete for prize money of €64k (men) and $50k (women) as well as vying for ATP/WTA world ranking points.

On Saturday there's the Men's Singles Finals, the Women's Singles Semi-Final and Doubles. On Sunday see the Women's Singles Finals and Doubles Finals - subject to change. There's open sessions from 10am-12pm. All about the Aegon Nottingham Challenge here

Entry and car parking for all tournaments is FREE. Simply come down and enjoy the tennis!
