Nuthall Road

Second phase of improvement works under way

The next section of work to improve Nuthall Road started last Sunday (9 August).

Nottingham City Council is resurfacing the road (pavements where required) and improving the area around the base of the trees where roots have damaged the pavement between Western Boulevard and Aspley Lane.

Work began at the end of June and continues until 1 September, with some weekend work. The hours of work will vary to suit the network. Please see information below and attached plans for further details on inbound and outbound road closures and diversion routes.

The inbound carriageway runs from Western Boulevard to Aspley Lane. The outbound carriageway runs from Aspley Lane to Western Boulevard.

Gregory Boulevard

Gregory Boulevard transformation continues

Nottingham City Council has started work on a project to make changes along Gregory Boulevard to make the area safer for everyone - especially those walking and cycling.

Following the allocation of funding from the East Midlands Combined Authority (EMCCA) and national government for this project, the council has been planning the project and consulting with local people.

Engagement was carried out in May and June 2026 with more than two thirds (69 per cent) of respondents indicating they were supportive of the proposals.

The improvements along Gregory Boulevard between the A60 Mansfield Road and Noel Street will include:

  • adding 850 metres of cycle path, separate from the road
  • resurfacing the road and pavements
  • upgrading existing crossings and adding a new signalised crossing for pedestrians and cyclists
  • adding plants which help manage surface water and create habitat for wildlife

The construction programme is scheduled to last approximately 13 months, ending in late summer 2027.

The works have been planned around Goose Fair (with no works coinciding with the fair) and to take advantage of the summer holidays when traffic levels are lower, to help cause as little disruption as possible.
