Full weekend closure of A52 Derby Road

National Highways has reminded motorists and residents that a section of the A52 Derby Road will be fully closed next weekend.

As part of the A52 Priory to QMC Road Improvements and Cycleway Scheme, the road will shut between the two roundabouts from 8pm on Friday 27 March until 6am on Monday 30 March. 

During the weekend closure, National Highways will resurface the eastbound footway and cycleway. The decision was taken to consolidate the work over a single weekend, rather than during six weeks of overnight closures.

The new combined footway and cycleway is due to open in mid-April and National Highways plans to reopen the road to two-way traffic during the day in early May, with final works completed in early June.

As with previous closures, there will be marshalled closure points, as well as intercom traffic signs at roadworks closure points to provide local access.
