Help shape the Nottingham Seed to Fork Primary Education Guide
This new guide has been developed with local universities, the council’s Achieve Well Team, Public Health Nottingham, community growers and primary schools. It supports a whole school approach to food education by linking growing, cooking, eating and sustainability across teaching and the school environment.

January is a positive time for schools to promote wellbeing and healthy habits. Action for Happiness runs the Happier January campaign throughout the month, supported by a free daily action calendar. Activities can be easily linked to assemblies, PSHE, PE and daily movement opportunities.

Last chance to book onto this exciting training opportunity with Alice Hoyle! This practical workshop, taking place on 29th January 2026 from 15.30 to 17.30, is designed for teachers to build awareness of sensory needs and wellbeing. Whether you’re learning to understand your student’s sensory worlds or realising your own sensory needs have taken a back seat in the classroom, this session is for you. Led by Alice Hoyle, neurodivergent parent, educator, and author of Becoming a Sensory-Aware School which has been purchased for all attendees, we’ll explore how to use the book to bring sensory wellbeing into your classroom with an additional focus on the PSHE curriculum.

RED January is a UK-wide campaign encouraging daily movement throughout January to support physical and mental wellbeing. We’re excited to announce that all applications to The Achieve Well Healthy Eating Grant have now been assessed, and schools will have received an email confirming the outcome. Thank you to everyone who applied, we were impressed by the creativity and commitment shown across all projects. We can’t wait to see these initiatives come to life and begin making a real difference to children’s health and wellbeing in Nottingham City schools.
