Work to improve properties

During an inspection officers found an external door with no door handle. The landlord replaced the door, which is no more secure and energy efficient. The risk that someone would have been burgled or not been able to use the door in an emergency was removed as a direct result of the Selective Licensing

Monthly Licence Condition Focus - Licence Holder training

This month’s focus is on the requirement for Licence Holder training.

If you are a licence holder and haven’t undergone recent training (in previous 3 years before your licence was granted) you need to undertake one of the training courses listed below. You need to do this within 12 months of your licence being granted, keep copies and provide them if we ask for them.  Being a licence holder brings responsibilities and having an understanding of the law and terminology used around this area of work is really important and can help protect you and help you manage your properties better. Make sure you check your licence documents as to when they were issued and keep good records of all relevant training and safety certificates and documents you need to keep.

Have your say on the city’s Housing Strategy – Homes Fit for the Future

A draft Housing Strategy – Homes Fit for the Future – has been developed to improve the quality, supply and affordability of housing in the city.

The strategy, which runs to 2028 and has been put together by Nottingham City Council, will cover social housing, the private-rented sector and owner-occupied homes. Partnership working will be key to achieving the vision and responding to housing need in the city, and the strategy provides a framework for organisations to work together.

A public consultation which launched this week offers people an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft strategy. To take part in the consultation please fill out our online survey. The responses we receive through the survey will help shape the final strategy document and our actions for the next four years.
