Welcome to the Nottingham Green Guardians newsletter. These regular newsletters will keep you updated with everything to do with the Nottingham Green Guardians volunteering programme – it will feature new opportunities and activities, volunteer programme developments and volunteer stories.

You may have heard through the grapevine that we have hired a new Park Ranger for Highfields and the Forest Rec' so say hello to Danni!
Danni is really excited to be working with you, our fabulous volunteers and finding lots of exciting tasks and projects for you to get involved in.
We'll let her find her feet for another couple of weeks but please keep your eye out in the New Year for volunteering sessions and events at Highfields and the Forest Rec!!

We'll be planting around 1,000 whips at our next Miyawaki-style Forest at High Wood Cemetery on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th December 2021 - Saturday is almost full so email me to register your place - sandra.horner@nottinghamcity.gov.uk

**TOMORROW**
We're holding an all ages welcome planting afternoon at King George V Playing Fields, NG8 on Wednesday 1st December between 1-3pm.
Meeting Point: King George V Playing Field, Aspley Lane entrance, NG8
The site is accessible via public transport (Local Link L4 - Denewood Crescent stop or NCTX 77 - Ambleside Road or Exbourne Road stops with a short walk), on street parking available near by.
Gloves and tools will be provided, although if you'd prefer to bring your own trowel and gloves then that's okay!

We don't have many conservation based sessions left before the New Year so if you want to get involved see our dates and locations below;
Saturday 4th December 10am - 2pm at Sellers Wood - (please email nwtcitygroup@gmail.com to register)
Monday 6th December 10am-2pm at Iremongers Pond (details to register below)
You will need weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, light refreshments are provided.
Remember to let us know that you are coming so we have enough PPE, tools and refreshments!
