 Nottingham named in list of 95 global climate leaders
Nottingham has been recognisedĀ by CDPĀ asĀ oneĀ of 95Ā cities around the globeĀ that is taking bold leadership on environmental action and transparency, despiteĀ the continued pressures of tackling the coronavirus pandemic on local and national economies and societies.
Nottingham is one of 11 cities in the UK named on this yearās A List, alongside Edinburgh, London, and Manchester. These cities are celebrated for showing that urgent and impactful climate action ā from ambitious emissions reduction targets to building resilience against climate change ā is achievable at a global level and in cities with different climate realities and priorities.

Organisations in Nottingham Have Created a Pop-up Space for Climate Conversations
Green Light In The City is a space in Bridlesmith Gate and its organisers ā drawn from both universities, the City Council, and local education and arts organisations and charities ā hope the space will allow people to share ideas about the cityās green future.
The partnership will develop more āpop-upā spaces in empty premises which will provide a focus for creativity and engagement on key local issues. It offers a model for new ways of using these areas of the city in the future and will be open to all ages and groups.

 Grants to help your business reduce its carbon footprint
Nottingham City Councilās Accelerating Reduction in Carbon (ARC) project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund will help small and medium sized businesses located in Greater Nottingham to decarbonise.
ARC gives grants to help businesses invest in measures such as LED lighting and heating upgrades, installation of energy efficient cooling systems, insulation and production of renewable energy that lead to cost and carbon savings.

Romano's CaterersĀ are the latest business to join our pledge...
Romano's are committed to reduce their carbon footprint, and are aiming to be carbon neutral by the end of 2023.
They run concessions on local parks such as Wollaton park and Holme Pierrepont country Park. Romanoās are the first Nottingham based company to ensure zero emissions whilst trading.
80% of the Romanoās ice cream fleet is run on electric. Their new ice cream vans have also been designed to power the ice cream machine and electrical equipment using lithium batteries, enabling them to turn off the engine while trading. This reduces their carbon footprint and helps keep our green spaces green

 Homeowners, are you eligible for FREE solar?
Nottingham City Council has successfully secured funding from the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Scheme.
The objective of the project is to reduce Fuel Poverty and cut Carbon emissions, supporting our aspiration to become a Carbon Neutral City by 2028. This will be achieved by improving the energy efficiency of the targeted homes, aiming to bring them up to at least EPC level C.
If your home's' EPC level is of Band D, E, F or G you may be eligible for FREE solar panels!
