What is your business missing out on..?

Business Networks

For many business owners, strategic planning is daunting enough, even if you could find the time to stand still long enough to put pen to paper...

This is perfectly natural so don't beat yourself up over it, really, just don't!

Instead, read on and let us tell you how easy it is to find support to get your plans off the ground, with the B-Global network.

What's stopping you could be fear of missing out, lack of self-belief, lack of expert knowledge or just the need to run something past a friend or another business-minded person. We know that, and that's why we're here to help your business to succeed.

The B-Global network will support you to make the time to plan. We will link you to other business owners who have been where you are and can share the benefit of their experience. Click the link below and come and see what you've been missing...

How to Actualise your Goals

Esther Akpovi

B-Global ambassador and founder of SheEO Alliance

Esther Akpovi

What does actualising your goals mean to you?

To me it means the ability to set your goals and actually achieve them. The way to do this is by setting S.M.A.R.T goals.

Specific: The more specific your description, the bigger the chance you’ll get exactly that.

Measurable: Measurable goals means that you identify exactly what it is you will see, hear and feel when you reach your goal.

Attainable: Is your goal attainable? That means investigating whether the goal really is acceptable to you.

Relevant: Is reaching your goal relevant to you? Do you actually want to run a multinational, be famous, have three children and a busy job?

Time- based: Time is money! Make a tentative plan of everything you do.

Before I run a seminar, I have to plan ahead. I have to know what the aim of the seminar is, the emotions I want people to feel from attending, who my target audience is, how much I want people to pay, who I can get to sponsor me and so many more things.

Success is in the execution not the idea; without a strategic plan you will remain stuck in the planning stage and I do not wish that upon anyone.

We planned our Actualising our Goals conference back in January in partnership with the B-Global network to make it the success that it was.

For me B-Global is about community, culture and collaboration. We all have skills and knowledge in our industries. If we are able to be part of this network, we can help each other and have more sustainable businesses.

Jermaine Chisholm

Who's part of the B-Global network?

"I was born in Jamaica and came to the UK in 2001, settling in Birmingham originally and completing a Business and Management degree at Oxford Brookes University. Since my degree I have focused mainly on financial management, completing a CIMA qualification in accounting in early 2018. I have experience of working in finance roles, most recently for ACGO, a multi-national manufacturer based in the West Midlands. I moved to Nottingham in 2018 and joined the Nottingham Jobs team at Nottingham City Council the same year.

"I am personable, very approachable and able to engage SMEs to unlock potential within their business. Working as part of the Nottingham Jobs team my role as Employer Engagement and Apprenticeship Officer is to offer a fully-funded consultant service geared to identifying the skills SMEs are missing in their workforce and creating meaningful solutions to bridge the gap.

"Based in Nottingham city I am here to support the development of your workforce and will take the time to get to know you and your business to make sure I provide you with friendly, impartial, practical and high-quality account management, supporting the development of your staff and helping you improve your growth potential."
