Storysmash Launch with Actor/Author Charlie Higson | 24 June

Join Fast Show, Broadchurch and Grantchester actor Charlie Higson - author of bestselling Young Bond and The Enemy books - as he launches Storysmash*.

*A series of workshops and masterclasses in which you’ll learn to write a story, and to create a digital game. Your game will subsequently be launched online for people to play (as part of the Storysmash website) as well as  showcased in Nottingham City Libraries and GameCity 2017 Festival. Lord Mayors Parade

Lord Mayors Day | 24 June 

From 11am, the new Lord Mayor and the city’s infamous resident, Robin Hood leads a procession from the Council House to Nottingham Castle. Enjoy a day of FREE family activities in the Castle grounds including ‘have-a-go-archery’, falconry displays, storytelling, a living history camp, and live music on the Victorian bandstand. Along with the chance to explore the castle, enjoy Cave Tours from £5 per person.

GO TRI Triathlon / 24 June

Pool based triathlon perfect for beginners taking place at Ken Martin Leisure Centre in Bulwell with a static bike stage (no need to bring your own!), and run in Bulwell Hall Park. £10 to enter. For more information.

And if you get the Triathlon bug there's always the British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup Nottingham / 2 September on Victoria Embankment welcoming elite teams and Olympians. 


Sunrise medal

A brand new event comes to Nottingham. A 5km run, or walk taking place at the unusual time of 5.30am, allowing you to explore your city in a new light when the streets you know so well are deserted.

Wollaton Hall hosts the main exhibition with complementary events taking place at Lakeside Arts. Featuring fossils and specimens never before seen outside Asia, Dinosaurs of China brings to life the story of how creatures evolved into the birds which live alongside us today.
