Nottingham City Council is looking for LGV drivers to work across different services within Commercial & Operations. To be responsible for the day to day operations and safety of a small team providing a full range of gardening, refuse, recycling and cleansing duties throughout the City in order to maintain the environment.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Class 2 LGV Driving License
• Experience / knowledge of the safe operation and driving vehicles such as refuse collection vehicles, gritters and mainline sweepers
• Be able to work flexible hours on an annualised hours basis. Between 37 and 45 hours (working longer or shorter hours throughout different weeks) across numerous working patterns.

Nottingham City Council is looking for refuse collectors to provide a range of gardening, refuse, recycling and cleansing duties throughout the City. To operate flexibly across a range of frontline services depending on service needs. This will include street cleaning, grounds maintenance, refuse collection and highways. This post is mainly to work as part of the garden waste recycling service . The service operates from 1st April - 31st October.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Be able to work flexible hours on an annualised hours basis. Between 37 and 45 hours (working longer or shorter hours throughout different weeks) across numerous working patterns. This also includes some weekend working to cover Bank Holiday collections
• The role requires applicants to be physically fit and be able to work outside in ALL weather conditions
• Applicants must have good understanding / knowledge of working in a customer focused environment and have customer care skills to deal with the citizens of Nottingham on a daily basis.

Work directly with children & families who require support in a range of areas such as domestic abuse, substance use, mental health, debt, school attendance / exclusion - this is not an exhaustive list. You will be required to visit family homes, conduct 1-1 sessions with children, engage a wide range of agencies in supporting families, chair and record details in meetings as well as have due regard for any safeguarding issues and keep in regular contact with your manager.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.  Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and experience of apply legislation and policy and procedure to practice, including the relevant assessment framework and integrated working.

2.   Ability to conduct assessments and analyse findings to formulate action plans, and the ability to produce high quality written records and reports.

3.   A practical knowledge and understanding of child development and the needs of children, young people and families.

4.   Knowledge and understanding of multi-agency & partnership working and the variety of services available to families.

5.   Ability to represent Children Integrated Services in a varity for forums e.g. chairing meetings.

6.   Ability to think clearly under pressure and amange crisis situations.

7.   Ability to manage allocated cases and a commitment to integrated working.

8.   Experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and adults, from a variety of backgrounds, in an outcome focused way.

9.   Ability to use I.T. systems effectively, including departmental recording systems and Windows based information technology.

10. Experience of effectively using a range of preventative and early intervention models and theories when working with children and families to prevent the need for specialist servies.

11. Ability to build good working relationships with families and over-come barriers to them engaging.

12. Sensitivity to a diverse range of service users and evidence of responding to their difference needs.

13. Be willing to work across Children's Integrated Services as required to meet the needs of the service.

As a Community Protection Officer you will perform a unique and innovative role. You will build strong links with your communities and deal with local issues at a local level; your neighbourhoods will know you and you’ll know them.
Each day is different to the one before. This isn’t a desk job; you will spend 85% of your time out on the streets ensuring you're visible and proactively interacting with the community. You will work a shift pattern including weekends and evenings. You will conduct street patrols within designated areas of the City, aimed at tackling criminal activity, dealing with environmental crime and anti-social behaviour using delegated powers.
 
So, do you have the qualities we need?
• A professional, calm and positive manner
• An ability to be sensitive but remain objective
• Effective communication and listening skills
• Ability to work shifts and be flexible
• The confidence to tackle inappropriate behaviours
• The ability to work in a team, but equally under your own initiative
• The skills to deal with people from different religious, social backgrounds, ages and levels of education
• Good written skills and attention to detail
• Must complete level 5 of the multi stage fitness test (bleep test)
• Ability to work out of doors in varying weather conditions on solo patrol as directed.

1). Fitness test (Reaching level 6 on the 20m bleep test)
2). Assessment centre (observation, written and role play)
