Nottingham City Council's multi-award winning Energy Projects Service is looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Senior Energy Projects Officer to support the Energy Projects Manager in effectively delivering our ambitious district heating projects. You'll coordinate and deliver energy projects that will help us achieve our Business Plan targets to reduce energy use, cost and carbon emissions, as well as helping to generate commercial income streams.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience of working in an Energy Projects/Management function and engaging with other service areas, such as finance, property and maintenance
• Self-motivated, conscientious and responsive. An ability to work flexibly and to changing timescales
• Experience of working on district/communal heating projects and advising on issues related to carbon emissions, in relation to a wide range of property types and operations
• Energy project reporting, coordination and management

Do you have experience at providing adaptations for disabled people? We are looking for a surveyor or tradesperson who can demonstrate ability and experience to design, specify and supervise home adaptations for disabled people. You will also be able to show an empathy and understanding of the need of disabled people.
 
- Design, specification and supervision of works of adaptation, improvement or repair e.g. project manage from survey to completion, scrutinise tenders, certification for payment and completion.
- Processing of Disabled Facilities Grant and renovation grants, and other forms of assistance for vulnerable people.
- Provide a comprehensive agency service for vulnerable citizens in partnership with Occupational Therapy, Environmental Health, selected contractors, etc.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
- Extensive knowledge of housing construction, adaptations, repair and renovation techniques.
- Awareness of the housing needs of disabled and other vulnerable people.
- Experience in the survey of buildings, preparation of detailed drawings, schedules and specifications of building work, administration / supervision of building contracts.
