The NET Winter Wonderland is now open...

Don't miss the new and improved ice rink and alpine lodge boot room and a brand new winter ice bar. You can also browse cabins selling seasonal delicious food, drinks and Christmas crafts and gifts. 


lights switch on

Nottingham Christmas Lights Switch On - Thursday 24 November

Nottingham's Christmas Lights will be switched on by Paralympic medal winners Ollie Hynd and Charlotte Henshaw. The event will also include live festive music and Santa and his elves.

To ensure everyone's comfort, a one-way system and controlled zone for pedestrians will be in force. Trams will also stop running through the Old Market Square temporarily. See the full details here.

The Nottingham Christmas Lights Switch On will also be broadcast live on Notts TV (6.30pm show) and via What's On in Nottingham on Facebook.

Friday night smash up

Friday Night Smash Up
At Nottingham Tennis Centre

The ‘Smash Up’ takes place on the last Friday of the month and features different sports each time. No matter what the sport, the key thing is to come and have fun!

It’s all about families playing a variety of sports together on the indoor tennis courts. This month (Friday 25 November) is tennis, table tennis, badminton, archery and football.

Sessions are free to Nottingham City Council Tennis/Fitness members but non-members can play for £5 each (payable on the day) Booking is essential.

Lunchtime Concert at Nottingham Trent University

Wednesday 30 November

The Lunchtime Concert Series is held fortnightly throughout the academic year and features NTU students, staff, and internationally recognised musicians.

Taking place in the Old Chemistry Theatre, the concert will last approximately 30 minutes, making it an ideal no-cost way to pass the time during your lunch break!

Christmas Cake Club at the Ned Ludd

Sunday 27 November 3 - 5pm

Enjoy a sugar-filled festive afternoon in the pub while raising money for great local charities. Bring along a Christmas-themed cake, or simply enjoy eating the cakes. £3 entry by donation for bakers, £5 for non-bakers. Children are welcome.

Light Night 2017 - get involved!

Nottingham will celebrate the tenth Light Night on 10 February 2017, and we're already planning a brilliant event.

If you are part of an organisation and want to run an activity as part of Robin Hood Energy Light Night then get in touch by sending an email to arts@nottinghamcity.gov.uk. The deadline for being included in our Light Night programme is 23 November.
