October is the best time to plan a fun day out in Nottingham - there's so much to choose from!
Today - Sunday 9 October - It's Hockley Hustle

Grab a wristband (£12 - available on the door) and enjoy a day of live music and fun while raising money for local charities.

 12 - 15 October - Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival 

As ever, the popular beer festival is sold out at the weekend, but weekday tickets remain, or arrive early at the weekend for a chance to get in. Plus, check out the fringe festival too.

 13 - 16 October - Mayhem Film Festival

Broadway's annual film festival ushers in darker days with a mix of horror, cult and thriller films plus special events.

20 - 22 October - Nottingham International Microfilm Festival 

Book onto a no-charge screening or talk for a look at the emerging trends of microfilms.

Pop into the caves festival marquee in Old Market Square, daily 10am - 6pm to discover the history of the caves, and enjoy FREE interactive activities to bring the stories of the caves to life.

Calling all Sports Fans - Spend a Night with Nottingham's Hall of Fame Heroes
Thursday 3 November at Motorpoint Arena

Footballing heroes from the past and present will join together as the Nottingham Forest European Cup winning squads and Notts County, take their rightful place amongst the world’s football elite as they're inducted into Manchester’s National Football Museum Hall of Fame.

Nottingham Forest’s very own “Picasso of Football”, John Robertson, will be among the list of star names in attendance as he receives an individual induction into the Hall of Fame.

Meet the stars from past and present as they share their favourite goals and moments from Nottingham’s rich footballing history.

Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire libraries 13th Annual Readers Day
Saturday 12 November at County Hall 

Join us for a day of author talks, workshops and discussions. This year we welcome 3 main speakers –international best selling crime writer and poet Sophie Hannah; novelist Joanna Cannon discussing her book the trouble with goats and sheep and Jane Hawking author of the Travelling Infinity which became the Oscar-winning film, the theory of everything. Dr Hawking will discuss her life and writing following the publication of her new novel Silent Music.
